• Santorum: Doctors Providing Abortions To Rape And Incest Victims Should Be Arrested
Appearing on NBC’s Meet the Press this morning, former Senator and GOP presidential candidate Rick Santorum offered two stunningly maximalist positions on abortion — abortion should be flatly banned even in cases of rape or incest, and doctors who perform abortions should face criminal charges: QUESTION: Do you believe that there should be any legal exceptions for rape or incest when it comes to abortion? SANTORUM: I believe that life begins at conception, and that that life should be guaranteed under the Constitution. That is a person. QUESTION: So even in the case of rape or incest, that would be taking a life? SANTORUM: That would be taking a life, and I believe that any doctor that performs an abortion, I would advocate that any doctor that performs an abortion, should be criminally charged for doing so. Watch it: It’s worth noting that Santorum’s statement that “life begins at conception” also indicates that he would make it a crime to provide many forms of birth control to victims of rape or incest. During a debate with Sen. Bob Casey (D-PA), who defeated Santorum in 2006, Santorum took the position that the morning after pill is the exact same thing as abortion if it is taken after “the egg has been fertilized.” Moreover, Santorum’s position that the Constitution compels laws protecting fetuses places him at odds with the Supreme Court’s most conservative members. In DeShanney v. Winnebago County, the Supreme Court held that the Constitution’s guarantee that no person shall be denied “life . . . without due process of law” does not actually require the government to criminalize anything — a decision that runs directly counter to Santorum’s position on abortion. Justice Antonin Scalia, who has gone so far as to say that the Constitution does not prevent gender discrimination, was in the majority in DeShanney. Nevertheless, this kind of over-the-top social conservatism is exactly the kind of thing Americans have come to expect from Rick Santorum. Santorum has previously called laws protecting the health of a pregnant woman “phony,” and he is best known for spouting a frothy mixture of anti-gay rhetoric comparing same-sex couples with people who have sex with dogs. Keep digging that hole!
Is he...secretly campaigning for Obama in 2012 or something?
Is he...secretly campaigning for Obama in 2012 or something?
I don't think so. :saddowns:
Incest has victims now? EDIT: Seriously, I thought Incest was a consensual thing. A weird, squicky consensual thing, but consensual. If a sexual act is not consensual, it's just plain Rape. Or Sexual Assault.
SANTORUM: I believe that life begins at conception
I believe that life began millions and millions of years ago and that you are yet to reach the age of reason.

Someone please punch this shit square in the face. For the greater good of humanity.
This is stupid. If anything, abortions for rape victims should be mandatory.
This is stupid. If anything, abortions for rape victims should be mandatory.
Then you'll have the government saying "abortions for lower-class should be mandatory" "Abortions for minorities should be mandatory"
I agree with Untouch. Santorum needs to be punched in the face. As well as anyone who agrees with Santorum on this issue. Because seriously. What the fuck.
This is stupid. If anything, allowing abortions for rape victims should be mandatory.
Fixed. As in, "hospitals should not be allowed to deny rape victims an abortion if they want one".
Santorum is the dumbest motherfucker in this entire universe. Case closed. Except for maybe George W. Bush.
Santorum is the dumbest motherfucker in this entire universe. Case closed.
You still missed a few clues and bombed all the questions.
Santorum is the dumbest motherfucker in this entire universe. Case closed. Except for maybe George W. Bush.
Even Bush thinks Santorum is an idiot.
This is stupid. If anything, abortions for rape victims should be mandatory.
That's worse Holy shit Why did this get even one agree
Santorum is just greedy with the dead babies, that's all.
This is how I feel.
This is how I feel.
Idiot or monstrous bigot. Either works.
Idiot or monstrous bigot. Either works.
or both
SANTORUM: I believe that life begins at conception, and that that life should be guaranteed under the Constitution. That is a person.
Oh, is this why we always list someone's birth date rather then the day his parents did the horizontal tango?
Well that pretty much aborts his presidential campaign.
Even Bush thinks Santorum is an idiot.
No he dosn't. Bush is an idiot, therefore he agrees with Santorum.
Well that pretty much aborts his presidential campaign.
this is america we're talking about. the voting majority are people with deep-seeded bigotry who are too stupid to even be able to tie their shoes
this is america we're talking about. the voting majority are people with deep-seeded bigotry who are too stupid to even be able to tie their shoes
Half are women though He just lost most of the female vote
Half are women though He just lost most of the female vote
no he didn't there are a lot of female conservatives [editline]1[/editline] and pro-lifers
The doctors should respond by sending him a few jars of nice, frothy santorum.
Half are women though He just lost most of the female vote
what? females tend to be more anti-abortion than males
No he dosn't. Bush is an idiot, therefore he agrees with Santorum.
You can still have two idiots that disagree on something.
Half are women though He just lost most of the female vote

what? females tend to be more anti-abortion than males
Like Sanius said, there are female conservatives / women against women's rights. Examples: Palin, Bachmann, etc.
this is america we're talking about. the voting majority are people with deep-seeded bigotry who are too stupid to even be able to tie their shoes
It's not my fault I only learned the bunny ears way to tie my shoes! :emo:
