Congressional Tax Committee Will Not Seek Trump's Records
A congressional tax oversight committee will not seek U.S. President Donald Trump's tax returns despite calls from Democrats for a review to determine possible business ties to foreign countries including Russia, the panel's Republican chairman said on Monday.
Defying decades of precedent, Trump has refused to release his tax documents, which Democrats say could show whether his business empire poses any conflicts of interest as he moves forward on issues ranging from tax reform to foreign relations.
"If Congress begins to use its powers to rummage around in the tax returns of the president, what prevents Congress from doing the same to average Americans?" House of Representatives Ways and Means Committee Chairman Kevin Brady told reporters

What? Fuck off, the President needs to be held accountable, he's not a private citizen.
Oh, of course they won't, because why have dignity and put country first before your political party?
wow that cronyism, the president is not an average american it IS in this countries best interest to know whats going on there
Remember that petition that garnered like over 700,000 signatures on Trump releasing his tax files immediately? Yeah, "We the People" my ass.

you already fucking do
When the Democrats inevitably sweep Congress in the midterms, I expect the political composition of this committee to be quite different and the tax returns finally examined.
What's the point of having these committees if they won't even investigate something so fraudulent?

To get rid of political opponents like Hillary

That implies that they sweep them, I don't have any trust left in the democratic process in the US, not in the voter nor the voting system itself.
Trump does shit that is impeachable anyway, why not do it now,
instead of waiting 2 years for Trump to wreak havoc and democrats to pick up the pieces that are left.
I don't understand how they haven't leaked yet to be honest.

Really gets those neutrons firing.
The one problem about Leftists/Liberals/Democrats is that they give too much compromise to the other side.
Even something that seems reasonable should be examined with extreme scrutiny.
Life is hard enough, stop taking the fucking easy route.
If Republicans/Conservatives/Alt-Right want to strong-arm their way into power and fuck over the people, the Democrats need to respond in full force.
None of this compromise lee-way bs, once the Democrats regain power, they need to maintain their grip, otherwise we get a scumbag administration like this that brainwash their voters for instant gratification instead of looking at the long-term consequences.
Their voters don't have the mental capacity to think ahead. They think with the wrong head. They don't know shit about the world.

Government used to be about finding a compromise with the other side in order to reach a conclusion that suits all Americans.
Now people are so embedded in their chosen party they will happily drive the country into the fucking dirt if it means the other guys don't get what they want.

This dude's been in office for over half my life. Is that supposed to be the neuron-firing part? It is rather terrifying.
