• Remo drum heads - Clear or coated?

I am not sure what the sound difference would be but I play a lot of metal on drums and I think coated drum heads would sound better. My drums are: 14" snare, with Remo powerstroke 4 coated 13" Med Tom with Remo Emperor clear 12" small tom with " 16" floor tom with " 18" bass drum with Remo Powerstroke 3 clear I don't want to change the bass skin or snare skin because they sound decent but I am having a lot trouble tuning my toms!
Coated, personally better quality in sound, and lasts longer. But! your floor and base drum should always be clear.

And also I don't already have the 1ply heads on the bottoms of my drums, should I put them on as well? I only have the shitty heads that came with my kit.
1ply on the bottom will make the volume of the drum much better, if that's what you're aiming for.
If you have only the shitty ones that came with it then if i were you just buy new ones its worth it. But im not quite sure of your economical status. It's your call.
I like more natural sounding drums so I usually get clear, they just seem thinner and more resonant of the wood. But, in my experience, the coateds last alot longer and usually keep a nice pop/snap sound longer.
