They've been tussling over Ukraine and barely spoke at D-Day ceremonies, but Russian President Vladimir Putin still remembered to wish President Obama a happy 4th of July.
In his message to Obama, Putin said “he hopes that ties between the two countries, which have a rich history, will continue successful development on a pragmatic and equal basis despite the current differences and difficulties,” according to a statement from his office.
Well, seeing as how the direct predecessor of your country was threatening to tear us a nuclear asshole until about twenty years ago, I'm not sure that will happen.

You will pay for this in time.
We'll be cool if he sings the "Team America" song on national tv.
Rich history indeed as if the last 50 years were seen through rose colored glasses

You're forgetting it went both ways.
Also, the Netherlands has a good relationship with Germany, even though they invaded us and starved us 70 years ago, and that's a lot worse than waving nuclear missiles into your face because you do the same.
It's sort of sad to see relations between Russia and America so low. Back in the tsarist days we were bffs forever.
Thanks again for Alaska guys Q.Q

"USA IS DOMINATE"
Please die.
Rich History, huh? Yeah, Russia and the USA, the amazing wonderful brotherly unbreakable alliance which was to last for an eternity until it ended 5 seconds after the Nazis were defeated.

To the people rating this guy dumb, look at his flag dog. Unlike Americans and Dutch he has a reason to dislike Putin.

United States's most consistent ally was Russia up until the Cold War.

Russia is one of the main reasons as to why the United Kingdom did not support the Confederacy during the American Civil War, and after the war, the Russians were one of the few countries that would willingly accept American made firearms to re-build their military therefore ensuring that companies like Colt, Smith & Wesson, and otherwise would be able to survive the post-war years.
Seriously, what the fuck happened?
"Happy Birthday America!
it will be your last"

Communist revolution, we sided with the Whites and even tried (and failed) to invade Russia to stop the Communists. Was sort of downhill after.
