GoldenEye 007, the beloved N64 first-person shooter, has been recreated in high-definition glory by a team of dedicated fans over the course of 10 years. The mod, known as GoldenEye: Source, received its free update in more than three years this week. It's free to download and it features 25 recreated maps, 10 different multiplayer modes, and redesigned versions of the original game's 28 weapons. It was created using Valve's Source engine, the same set of tools used to create Counter Strike and Half-Life games. So it's a massive step up in both visuals and performance for one of the more drastically dated gaming masterpieces of the last 20 years.
http://www.theverge.com/2016/8/12/12457748/goldeneye-007-source-mod-pc-remake-multplayer-gaming?utm_campaign=theverge&utm_content=chorus&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter Some of the changes that comes with the update:
- Map overhaul :Aztec, Depot, Runaway, Dam, Bunker, Cavern maps either added or showcased as being reworked bringing total map count to 25 -New weapon models and prop models -Gameplay refinements such as better invulnerability as well as strafe running -Weapon overhaul
-Weapons will now dryfire when attempting to shoot after the magazine runs out causing careless shooters to be punished with a delay before reloading.-Primed Hand Grenades will now drop if a player is killed after they pull the pin. -Players can now walk or crouch past Proximity Mines to avoid triggering them. -Mounted shotgun shells now accurately represent your reserve ammunition. -Throwing Knife and Slapper hit detection has been rewritten to be completely reliable. -Automatic weapons now reward run-and-gun gameplay so long as you can sustain fire on targets. -All melee weapons have had a damage increase and players will no longer spawn with the Hunting Knife, it is now a weapon that must be picked up. -Silver and Gold PP7 now use Magnum and Golden ammo respectively for higher ammo scarcity.
-Soundtrack release -Sound effect Overhaul -Two new game modes: A View to Kill and Gun Trade -New Achievements
Download link: https://www.geshl2.com/2016/08/12/goldeneye-source-5-0-media-day-5/

I really wish Nightfire Source was making more progress
Sadly, no progress has been made on the Source version of The Specialist.
This brings me back to summer of 98'
I really wish Nightfire Source was making more progress
You'd think it being GoldSrc it wouldn't take a fuckload of time.
holy shit they came this far and nearly mapped out the entire game. they might aswell just make the actual SP mode now.
Did they ever add splitscreen? best part of Goldeneye was splitscreen.
Did they ever add splitscreen? best part of Goldeneye was splitscreen.
I don't think HL2 supports splitscreen natively (this is a hl2 mod, right?)
Sadly, no progress has been made on the Source version of The Specialist.
I think the Specialists fits better on GOLDSRC. I wish there were still people who played it, definitely one of the best death match (and RP if you're into that) games of all time.
I don't think HL2 supports splitscreen natively (this is a hl2 mod, right?)
Source actually supports splitscreen, presumably meant for consoles. It's probably pretty broken though.

It's like Jet Li fist fucking a turkey
Sadly, no progress has been made on the Source version of The Specialist.
You heard of Double Action: Boogaloo?
Source actually supports splitscreen, presumably meant for consoles. It's probably pretty broken though.
I remember it was possible to play splitscreen on PC version of L4D1 with console commands i think I think it was disabled on L4D2
I remember it was possible to play splitscreen on PC version of L4D1 with console commands i think I think it was disabled on L4D2
It actually isn't! All you need is to find a mod in the Workshop and splitscreen will be up and running on 2 What I meant in my post up there was that I though maybe only HL2 didn't support splitscreen
Portal 2 support 2 Players splitscreen :D
Portal 2 support 2 Players splitscreen :D
Portal 2 is on a newer branch of Source isn't it?
I really wish Nightfire Source was making more progress
someone else played that? i thought i was the only one
someone else played that? i thought i was the only one
I did a lot when I was younger, just the mention of it brings back nostalgia. Fuck, it and Half-Life were my favorite games for a while, and I never even knew they had the same engine.
Sadly, no progress has been made on the Source version of The Specialist.
AFAIK part of the problem is that Source isn't a well suited engine for the type of movements typically done in The Specialist. After all, it's martial arts + gunplay inspired by The Matrix, except cranked up to 11
I did a lot when I was younger, just the mention of it brings back nostalgia. Fuck, it and Half-Life were my favorite games for a while, and I never even knew they had the same engine.
Talking about this http://www.nightfiresource.com

timesplitters source when
This shit is fun as Fuck. Really casual fun
timesplitters source when
isn't there a timesplitters rewind project going around, but not on source
isn't there a timesplitters rewind project going around, but not on source
Timesplitters Rewind was basically some people going up to Crytek and asking "hey can we make a fangame, since you own the license now due to taking free radical" Crytek said "sure you can even use the assets from the older games if you want - but it has to be on cryengine" The devs wanted to make wholly original assets, though, so it's.. been very slow progress.
