GREENE COUNTY, Ohio — Dash cam video shows the arrest of a former high school state wrestler who literally wrestled with a deputy and got shocked with a TASER. Deputy Josh Barrett found 21-year-old Josh Schell passed out in the front seat of his car last Friday, according to WRGT. Barrett approached the vehicle to investigate, but shortly upon waking, Schell began fighting. In the video, Barrett unsuccessfully attempts to keep Schell inside the vehicle. Schell grows combative, apparently punching Barrett several times before launching what resembles a wrestling match in the middle of the highway. The two are seen rolling over one another — throwing punches — and after a struggle, Barrett kicks Schell off and deploys his less lethal device in order to arrest him. “It's unfortunate that any law enforcement officer would have to go through something like this. But with the help of a TASER the officer is finally able to take the suspect into custody,” Greene County Sheriff Gene Fischer said. Both were treated and released from the hospital, sources said. Barrett is on currently on administrative leave while the incident is investigated, but he is expected to be back at work soon. Schell was charged with felonious assault and OVI, and he is in jail on $50,000 bond.
Source Video in source (no audio) -- imo - The Cop failed. The suspect should have been TASERd as soon as he started to wrestle with the officer.
No clue, maybe they want to put emphasis on it, like we should be terrified of it or something. It is a mystery.
So does TASER stand for anything or are they just capitalizing TASER for no reason?
Thomas A. Swift's Electric Rifle
it happens, I guess
Title reminded me of this:
I'll never understand why people think anything good would come out of attacking a police officer
So does TASER stand for anything or are they just capitalizing TASER for no reason?
Pretty much, Taser is just the name of the manufacturer, no idea why they did that
Thomas A. Swift's Electric Rifle
That's a backronym. Also, looks like this guy's dermal armour wasn't properly augmented.
Did they tase him in the butthole?
He's lucky the cop used a taser and not a gun. You're a dumbass if you try to even fight a cop.
It looks like the cop tased the guy like 5 times, he should have cuffed him after the 1st.

This is why cops should incorporate jiu jitsu or wrestling into their training. Instead of their 2 or 3 taketowns they are taught.
That's a backronym.

In 1970, he formed Taser Systems, Inc., named for the Tom Swift novels.

If I start fighting with a cop with my hands (self-defense) or try running away from a cop I hope to God he doesn't shoot me. It would be unnecessary force IMO.

Shooting someone here would be way excessive unless the dude really started to pound on the officer. I just feel like the officer was a bit slow to gain control. Nether the less the job got done.

That could have ended so much worse for the officer..
