Hüsker Dü are an American Hardcore/Punk/Alternative band from America. They are a three-piece band consisting of Greg Norton (Bass), Grant Hart(Drums), and Bob Mould(Vocals, Guitars). Grant and Bob are the two main song writers with Greg contributing almost nothing to the band other than playing Bass and having a silly mustache. When they first started out their sound was very aggressive but as time went on they started becoming more melodic and wrote more catchy pop-punk songs not similar to the shitty ones you hear on the radio all the time, except these ones aren't shitty. Anyways Bob is known for being a homosexual which led many fans to speculate that he was having a secret homo love with Grant, but they deny it, just like my math teacher and the principal. For a first album, if you like heavier, more aggressive stuff than get Everything Falls Apart or Zen Arcade, a concept album about a teenager who runs away from home only to realize that the world outside sucks ass. If you prefer their more melodic sound get New Day Rising or any album after that. Anyway music. they seem exactly like the replacements but less interesting I'll check out the early stuff.
They really are a great band.
I  Husker Du
"Husker du" means "Do you remember" in Norwegian
Great band, to bad none of facepunch really cares for Husker Du, since they are all listening to Reel Big Fish and Slipknot.
Good post punk band. Don't Want To Know If You Are Lonely - good song.
I really wouldn't call them post-punk.
