I'm really starting to hate Israel. At first it was more like irritated apathy, but the more I hear about it, the more I can't stand it. It's like the spoiled brat raised by some doting royalty, brought up to think he's so goddamn special and that the entire world owes him something, expecting everyone to kiss up to him and be nice around him. All because of this goddamn "holy land" garbage. God, I remember that "Israel is our greatest ally" speech from our president a while back and it still baffles me. What did Israel do to deserve [i]that[/i] ass-kissing? Because it was a significant location in some religious texts? How has it [i]ever[/i] actually helped or supported us, or is this just the lip-service it expects because it's Israel and it's the national equivalent of a special snowflake? Israel acts like it's so damn important and that it can get away with anything. I don't care what religion you believe in and I'm not even gonna criticize it - if it's what you want to believe and you're not killing anyone over it, go for it - but you don't get a free pass because you live on what you believe to be your chosen diety's front porch or whatever, and the fact that so many people fight over ownership of the friggin' [i]land[/i] it sits on is astounding. And that we have people like this cheering on the deaths of children in Gaza (I don't even remember [i]why[/i] this stupid scuffle started at this point) just makes me want to grab each one by the collar and ask them who the hell they think they are.
