Del Toro has written a story bible for the film and they have a writer to adapt the screenplay that they hope to announce very shortly. The project won't happen, however, until after del Toro's next, the horror story Crimson Peak. The film will follow John Constantine (who, Del Toro promises, will be blond this time) as its protagonist, and will include the previously-announced Swamp Thing, the Demon, Deadman, the Spectre and Zatanna as well. "He is basically trying to recruit," says Del Toro of the "Hellblazer" hero. Though the film's through-line will feature Jason Blood's history with Merlin and the Knights of King Arthur, bringing a threat to present day. Del Toro stressed that he didn't want any of the heroes' origins to be delivered up front and...[Click here to continue]

As long as the movies explore the untouched regions of the comic book world and make a good movie, I'm okay with it. Del Toro is great at showing audiences a strange and fantastic idea such as Pan's Labyrinth and Hellboy and making them great. Not to mention, a movie such as this- if done well- opens doors to other corners of the DC Universe that I know DC's film studio is just dying to make money off of in light of Marvel's The Avengers. I'm cautiously optimistic about this movie. It sounds odd, yet exciting; and it has nothing to do with the DC heroes that Hollywood has just about done to death (i.e. Superman and Batman). Plus, finally a movie about Etrigan and Zatanna. I look forward to it.
Phase 3 of marvel is going to amazing all because of doctor strange.
It's going to be a piece of shit. Del Toro already ruined the Hellboy movies by turning them into goofy action comedies with pointless subplots, and those movies were actually based on great comic books. This time around he's not only doing another movie based on a comic book(Justice League Dark), but a movie based on a genuinely bad comic book at that. This is the only version of Constantine that deserves to exist anyway. RIP Hellblazer 1988-2013, never forget.
is this constantine similar to that movie of that exocist?
Same character, different portrayal
Blame the Spider-Man 2000's movies, without those the genre would be significantly hurting or non existent

Did everyone just hate the Constantine movie or something? It was alright, definitely had its moments

I really dig the Constantine film, was pretty badass and looked nice. I'm interested to see how Del Toro handles the real Constantine character though, as opposed to badass Max Payne exorcist
Keanu Keanu Keanu Keanu Keanu Keanu Keanu Keanu He is a must for this, I'm still fucking waiting for Constantine 2
I'm so excited for this movie. Been looking forward to it since when they announced it four months ago. Justice League: Dark is such a good comic book series, I recommend you pick up the first two volumes at your local library.
I hope the make it more like the comics than the Keanu film. I need my bisexual, English, former punk rocker wizard.

I really really really want them to make a Batman film closer to the comics. Like right now please. An R rating would be greaaaaat too. And Man of Steel needs to not suck because I want a DC-verse thing going on.

Just look at this

Without that film, none of the superhero genre would've gotten off the ground. I'm guessing this is a case of fatigue by over-exposure though, because people cant seriously be retarded enough to suggest that the whole superhero genre has been a bad thing. Nolan's batman trilogy weren't just good superhero films, they were great films in general, easily among the best of the past 13 years or so.
