Turkey's Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has claimed victory in a local election, and vowed that his enemies would "pay the price".
Mr Erdogan's government has been accused of authoritarianism and corruption after a string of scandals.
The local election, the first vote since mass protests last June, was seen as a barometer of his popularity.
Mr Erdogan was not standing for election but campaigned hard for his Justice and Development Party (AKP).
With about a half of the votes counted, it was leading the main opposition party 45% to 27%.
He coined the term neo ottomanism if I'm correct.
You know you're living in a faux democracy when your Prime Minister has "vowed that his enemies would 'pay the price' ".
The AK Party is ironically named, considering how dirty it is (ak means "clean" in Turkish.)
Bullshit.
I've stayed up all night following the results of these elections on twitter. Ever since the voting started at 10 am local, people have been tweeting about votes being stolen or burnt, false stamped votes being accepted and more.

Not to mention almost half of the country had a "electrical discharge problem" during the counting of these votes.
This fucker cheated his way to the leadership.

We are idiots. No seriously, to the right wing %44 is right and the other %56 are bunch of traitors and the tapes that we all listened arent real.
and vowed that his enemies would "pay the price".
That's not good. At all.
It was 9:30PM when I checked the stats where CHP was really close to AKP however everything was pretty much fucked up when I woke up.
I don't care about what happens to Turkey anymore. Atarürk did his best secularising and modernising Turkey, yet our people crawled back to the medieval times. Apparently Turks don't deserve Atatürk's teachings. Secular Turks should just move abroad, the rest can keep circlejerking at Erdogan's speeches.

I have to agree with that. Although its likely that there could be a manipulation.
Hopefully they get their due justice and this fraud gets imprisoned.

I believe the elections are rigged but still, let's not forget what Aziz Nesin said.
