This is why I didn't buy it the first time it was released.

all these characters/skins/missions are DLC for the original, btw. this is just a GOTY edition, not a capcom-style rerelease.
That better be the box art. It's pretty cool.

so? still, next gen and pc versions, with all, same price.
enough reasons to not buy it at release.

people who begin playing fighting games at release have a basic advantage over anyone who joins later. it's much harder to enter an established fighting game community and learn among a bunch of old pros than it is to start from the ground up with everyone else.

thats not as bad as you may make it sound, besides, every player would have to buy the game twice to change the entire community on another platform.
I like how the article and this thread conveniently not mention there is a 360 version as well in the headline.

Sweet, Woolie is in it.

Good. Ever since the Capcom fiasco (fiasco for the gamers, not for the company) I've been quite frankly terrified of buying fighting games on their first release. Worst thing is my fears have proven right.

If it's anything like Mortal Kombat then there won't be much of a learning curve and the combat won't be deep enough to give long time players a serious advantage.
Was disappointed with the game, it didn't feel as rewarding or visceral as Mortal Kombat.

But its not supposed to BE Mortal Kombat.
