The child cannot consent to the circumcision therefore it cannot be performed until he is capable to give consent. This really is a simple concept that they dont seem to understand.

Its not ok for parents to give consent to perform cosmetic surgery on their children. These people need to be reminded that the child is not the property of the parent, the parent is the guardian of the child.

It was originally a contraception thing, but the idea spread to cover procedures in general. Is there nothing similar in the states? Something like vaccines is a medical procedure for medical reasons, not for cosmetic reasons, so it really doesn't compare. I suppose a tattoo would kind of be a similar thing, as it is cosmetic, though that's not a medical procedure so it's still not great.
