The Motion Picture Association of America - representing Warner, Sony, Fox, Disney, and Paramount, will be taking the UK's largest ISP, BT, to court over refusing to block Newzbin - a UK based website offering free downloads to movies and programmes. They will be applying for an injunction that will force BT to block Newzbin to their 5.6 million customers. MPA have said they are targeting BT as they have the largest customer base, as well as the ability to block websites. MPA wants BT to use Cleanfeed - a system used to block sites known for hosting child pornography, to block the websites. "Newzbin has no regard for UK law and it is unacceptable that it continues to infringe copyright on a massive and commercial scale when it has been ordered to stop by the High Court," said Chris Marcich, European president of the MPA, in a statement. Obligatory fuck off and die MPAA My respect for BT went up a little when I heard they initially refused this.
BT should just do what they want
Newzbin is awesome, props to BT for refusing to block it.
All that this will achieve is increased traffic for Newzbin.
Of couse they have no regard for UK laws; YOUR LAWS ARE FUCKING RETARDED
BT knows they'll lose costumers if they do this shit, they're gonna fight against this.
