The cop acted like tough shit because he was a marine. It doesn't really matter who you are, you shouldn't act like an asshole because someone is mad it took you 45(!) minutes to respond to a break-in.

Holy shit, the cop lied so blatantly in his written report: "Blake became combative by clinching his fist and taking a combative posture".
What's most interesting to me, though, is that all this material was sent to the news by a concerned someone within the police department, not the victim. That says a lot right there.

And since when does that warrant getting punched in the face and kneed in the chest? The cop overreacted and even lied about it in his report, saying that the victim was extremely hostile, had a 'combative stance' with clenched fist, and even omitted the fact that he punched him in the head. The fact that the cop had to lie about it in an official report shows that even he knew he overreacted.
That cop's a jackass. Who cares if he's a U.S marine. You don't punch somebody in the face for just saying something to you. A "marine" if he really is one, of all people, should know their limits.

First thing that went wrong was 45 minute response-time. That's not okay in the slightest, he has every right to be pissed, he just started acting like an idiot.
The officer acted unprofessional in almost every way possible too.
