I make this thread, so that i may possibly discover new composers and tracks i may have been unlucky enough to have missed. Finding new epics is largely based on pure luck, as much of it is never released comercially, but instead liscensed to music producers.
Feel free to add your own Orchestral music of any sort!
Epic Orchestral Genre:
Epic Orchestral is a sub-genre of Classical/Orchestral music, also commonly referred to as Trailer music. Music may involve all sorts of instruments (even computer generated). Epic Orchestral is often used to describe specific types of Trailer tracks which involve a certain theme or melody.
Example of a Epic Orchestral track:

Example of a typical Orchestral/Trailer track:

Notice how general Orchestral does not use any themes or melodies, whereas Epic heavily relies on it to remain interesting.

Yeah it's the intro for one of the albums, their keyboardist(?) was pretty damn awesome. Too bad they kicked out him and their bassist/clean vocalist.
They were the only reason I listened to this band, and the only reason this band wasn't a generic black metal band.
You guys might want to check out some of the tracks on Heroes Of Might And Magic 2/3.
Paul Romero and Rob King did some great music there.
Oh man, Stealth and Stardust. Great, great movies with wonderful soundtracks. Thank you for reminding me about them. BT actually worked on the Stealth soundtrack.
I've never heard of Two Steps From Hell, but it's awesome beyond all comprehension. I can't find it on iTunes though, is it retail only? Where can I find 2SFH albums? I NEED MOAR
You can't buy their albums. They only sell licenses :(

:saddowns:
Added 4 new favorites to OP, aswell as my personal orchestral pack for M&B: Warband!
No-one's mentioned E.S Posthumus? What a shame. Here, have a listen to this:
Ebla, from their debut album Unearthed.

And Pompeii, from the same album:

Quality isn't fantastic. but it's Youtube, what can you expect?
Oh yeah, and one other. Death is the Road to Awe, composed by Clint Mansell:

That's all rather ambient though. I prefer the ones with great themes going on.
I love this genre

The Halo soundtracks have always sounded epic to me.

X-Ray Dog is fucking awesome.

E.S. Posthumus' new album is amazing, and Clint Mansell is one of the best, great post.
Also, check out Position Music:

And Corner Stone Cues:

And although they're kinda the exact same people/thing as Immediate Music, you should mention Globus:

Globus havn't ever made any decent orchestral themselves. Anything they have made is a remake of someone else's work. Especially their Preliator. That thing has been remixed to death countless times.
Wow, I didn't even think of this as a genre, but loved this kind of music. Thanks!
I love this type of music! This is great, I now love Two Steps from Hell! I love you all! [img]http://www.facepunch.com/fp/rating/heart.png[/img]

Epic
Ah yes, that's a great one. Got it tugged away in my library somewhere aswell. I'll see if i can add some more tracks to the OP tomorrow.
Two pretty epic songs I can think of used for trailers would be...

Mind Heist by Zack Hemsey (Holy shit this song is fucking amazing)

Honor by Hans Zimmer (Main theme of The Pacific)
Not saying there aren't any others though. Chevaliers de Sangreal (along with 503), Death is the Road to Awe, Lux Aeterna, Sacrifice, The Kraken, and a whole bunch of other songs are really great and have that epic feel to them as well.
Re-structured OP and added more tracks.

what is "general orchestral"?
if you're trying to tell me that more mainstream classical music doesn't use themes or melodies you must really not have ears.
Here's some of my favorites by TSFH:
Breath of Cold Air

Guns And Oil
what is "general orchestral"?

Typical trailer music/orchestral repeats the same few notes throughout, and is generally not very interesting to listen to by itself. It's meant more as ambience. Epic takes a theme, repeats it and develops it, until it ends up at the grand finale.
:yarr:
:yarr: Indeed. I love that one. There is another pirate'y one called "Mustiny on the Seas" by Killer Tracks, which is also great. Sadly, it's not on youtube.
[editline]10:07PM[/editline]
Actually, found it but under the name "Mutiny on the Sea" by Mark Petrie. Strange. On Killer Tracks his name is not listed, and it definetly says mustiny, and not mutiny. Despite mutiny making more sense. I suppose they made a typo.
Horrible quality, so i'm not adding to the op.
