Mine would have to be V for Vendetta. I don't see how anyone could hate this film, it's an almost perfect movie, with fantastic acting from Hugo Weaving and Natalie Portman, and a kickass story with a perfect blend of action, drama, and suspense. It's hard to believe that some critics bashed this film.
Wild wild west!
The Room One critic said: 'Its a riot!' It was more than that to me. It was watching a man get slowly betrayed and emotionally hurt by his wife-to-be because she is manipulating the man's best friend into sex behind his back.

Lakeview Terrace.

Punch-Drunk Love.

Prequel trilogy. Come at me bro.
I think Burn After Reading is a comedy classic. A lot of people seem to say it's the worst movie they've ever seen but I don't know why. I think it's because the plot takes so many unexpected turns or maybe because the humor is dark as hell, but have these guys ever seen a Coen Brothers film? The casting is perfect and watching all the wacky characters interact is very fun and I like how the plot is very unpredictable. Another movie I love that most people don't care for is Napoleon Dynamite. Again a lot of people hate this movie and the main character and even though personally I wouldn't wanna be a mile near him, watching him however is a blast. I also love all the supporting characters as well and I think there are some very memorable scenes here.

Shutter Island
Scott Pilgrim vs. The World Say what you will about casting Cera or about how they chose to abridge the story, but look at it from a technical standpoint. So many amazing effects, from the the crazy visuals (the end sword fight with countless baddies being turned to coins) to little winks and nods via sound cues (the entire Seinfeld scene). So much love went into making that movie.

Gojira
Lakeview Terrace.
Not exactly a masterpiece, but really underrated.
Signs. I love that movie, yet everyone states that where Shyamalan started to lose it. I think it's easily his best movie, or at least my favorite.
Cobra, it's the only film that pretty much ticks all my boxes for fun.
Signs. I love that movie, yet everyone states that where Shyamalan started to lose it. Things sucked big-time when the alien actually did show up near the end though.
For whatever reason, I really liked the first Starship Troopers.
I'm not sure if it is underrated but for what it is Watchmen is a great movie. The source material is very large and I think the director managed to capture the main themes. And I really like the Punisher movie. The one with Travolta in it.
The Mist, from the direction to the acting and obviously keeping the risky ending that I personally think wraps the film up beautifully. [editline]10th August 2011[/editline] Oh and children of men, that 6 minute continuous scene is fucking impeccable.
For whatever reason, I really liked the first Starship Troopers.
I love Starship Troopers and I forced myself to watch the sequels.....they were horrible.
Joe Vs. the Volcano. There's so much you miss when you first watch it. It's takes several viewings to notice all the little details, themes, and throwbacks.
Battlefield earth was a pretty good comedy.
Not exactly a masterpiece, but really underrated.
That's what I meant but didn't feel like clarifying.
Children of Men times a fucking million. Visuals are godlike, well written plot, tense and exciting the whole way through, and has some really poignant scenes. (The soldiers ceasefire for example)
Children of Men times a fucking million. Visuals are godlike, well written plot, tense and exciting the whole way through, and has some really poignant scenes. (The soldiers ceasefire for example)
except that movie was extremely popular among people and critics.
except that movie was extremely popular among people and critics.
I think it deserves more popular praise, so many people haven't even heard of it.
I think it deserves more popular praise, so many people haven't even heard of it.
Because mainstream audiences tend to be fucking retarded . This is why each year, each blockbuster bar a chosen few tank critically, but still make a billion dollars at the box office
