Hello folks I decided that I want to repaint my bass for upcoming live shows my band will do so I played around in gimp for a while but my skills aren't good. I need some creative ideas or repaintings and thought I just post it here. My bass (High res picture) Yamaha RBX 5 String: [t]http://www.musikland-online.de/pix/download/yarbf643250/Yamaha_RBX-375_FLS_Bass_silber.jpg[/t] Three repaintings I did in Gimp: [t]http://i.imgur.com/HcJhULc.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/oZtSkG4.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/VaAvJDj.jpg[/t] I hope that I did not break any section rules with this thread. Hoping for creative ideas.

I like the third one most.
Here, have an infinitely detailed pattern. [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/L6MMx2M.jpg[/thumb]

My idea is to wrap the thing in danger tape, like this [img_thumb]http://filesmelt.com/dl/Yamaha_RBX-375_FLS_Bass_silber.jpg[/img_thumb]
I honestly like it better as it currently looks. (The first image)
I honestly like it better as it currently looks. (The first image)
This. Its a really nice looking bass. If you want to put a design on it, make sure it doesn't take away from the original look. It should be subtle.
You should 'dip' it.
You should 'dip' it.
Holy shit, this is fuckin awesome. How's it work?
It's paint, and since it's an oil it will 'float' on top of the water bath. You very gently and slowly dip the guitar/bass/whatever into the paint, try twisting and turning (see gentle and slow) it for a different swirl effect. Once the bass is fully submurged, the paint should stick to the bass, just clear away the paint off of the top of the water and pull it out. There's a full thing on how to do it at home, just google it or check their description.
Just get it signed by someone, I have mine signed by the bass god John Taylor.
