• I spent ages making a map for TrackMania. Here it is.

It was about 5-6 hours work, and it's the second track I made, but I really like the editor and I tried to make the map as complex and varied as possible (which is difficult because the arena you are given to work with is actually VERY small) I went for a fast paced and intense feel despite the fact that it's a 4 minute average time track. What do you think? The game is Trackmania Nations Forever The song is Battle Metal by Turisas Thanks.
That looking incredibly fun, and confusing.
If you love TNF, you should buy TrackMania United Forever Star Edition. Yes the title is that long.
5-6 hours = ages? ???
5-6 hours = ages? ???
For a map maker that takes 30 minutes to make a regular sized track, yes.
5-6 hours = ages? ???
I did it all in one stretch. I started the map at about 16:00 and finished at about 22:00 pretty much. Is it just me or is that game's motion blur amazing?
Is it just me or is that game's motion blur amazing?
It isn't just you. I think the graphics in general are pretty fucking good.
Pretty good, You should always try to make the track as smooth as possible so it can cleanly be done without having to step on the brakes. The part at 0:46 was pretty pointless, and at 1:00 that seemed to be really badly laid out. Keep scenery relevant, and unless it's a "Hold Forward" map, it's best to keep the length at around a minute. Overall, it starts off as a fullspeed track and blends to a tech track. It's good, but I'm more of Full Speed fan so it would be better to get criticism from someone that likes tech tracks. My first tracks looked like this, now I make near-impossible Full-Speed tracks. I should get the fuck back on TMU, mind if I post one of my tracks here?
Not trying to be a dick but as stadium tracks go it was pretty bad. Usually it's about either maintaining top speed or a good line (or both) through awkward turns and jumps. There wasn't really any of that in your track. It didn't seem to matter if you came to a stop then started again.

But thanks for the constructive critisism.
You made me want to install this game again!
its a shame not a lot of people play united anymore

I wanted to make it one where the aim was to get the best time, not where the challenge was to complete it. I just wanted to make this one wacky and over the top really though, I wasn't really going for a specific type of track or gameplay. Like the music I listen to, I wanted it to be an exploration as you played through it, rather than so much of a challenge.
Not trying to be a dick but as stadium tracks go it was pretty bad.
That's exactly why it's good to have a shitload of scenery that blocks out the feeling that you're in the stadium. I was very impressed but some parts looked confusing as fuck. Like when you had the fork in the road and at one part you had to turn around? I don't know if you can clarify that but either way cool map. Also on a map like this you shouldn't have to make the player brake.

nice map, still a bit confusing in some parts for someone to play, people might need to play a few laps on it to understand it
I want to upload a video showcasing my map "Loop de Doop". :saddowns: We need a Trackmania megathread.
Wow, that looks great!
Sexy curves, i have to start playing TM again.
We need a Trackmania megathread.
On it. Videos or Fast Threads? I would guess Videos.
General games?
Thanks everyone :D
I want to upload a video showcasing my map "Loop de Doop". :saddowns: We need a Trackmania megathread.
I used WeGame to record. Because I don't do piracy and I don't want to fork out for fraps. I recommend it. Tat was, great. Good job!

My problem was that i didn't want to make another trackmania thread just to post one video, when someone could make an awesome megathread where we all could post.

Someone else can make it, I have no experience of making/organizing a megathread whatsoever.
Where can I get this game
On Steam. There's a free version and there's a version you have to pay for.
Is it just me or does this game have loading times like sludge?
