Yaaaaay, now buying stuff from the states will cost even more
I'm sorry everyone.
I'm sorry everyone.
You name is, unfortunately, very fitting for Trump, and so is your avatar. I feel more and more like Trump has realised that he's in the shitter, and now he is just trying to secure a legacy - any legacy, be it good or god-fucking-awful.
This is idiotic. America is one of the largest exporters in the world, and any tax on imports will be met by other countries reciprocating the favour. It's American industries that will take the hit from increased isolation. There's are reasons why a majority of sensible nations are interested in expanding free trade; not regressing to protectionism.
YES, finally we can keep those dirty canucks and their fucking maple syrup out. BUILD THE (northern) WALL

They all think isolationism and "America First" will somehow magically produce billions of dollars in income solely for America and millions of jobs, even better if the illegals get thrown out because then maybe the native citizens will get those jobs. He just wants to be seen as some kind of savior for the American poor and lower-middle class, and get a legacy in, even if it is one of infamy.

With a shaky NAFTA + this, unless Canada itself can do something to ensure a smooth transition, they're going to get utterly fucked. What a fine way to treat one of your neighbors and allies. :frown:
"We don't have enough enemies. We need more."
"Canada does not treat us right in terms of the farming and the crossing the borders," Trump said.
Imagine the sheer dumbfuckery of a guy complaining about other countries 'not treating him right' in crossing borders when he campaigned on and tried to enact a travel ban from muslim countries he didn't do business with.

Friendship ENDED with America, now China is our new friend. [sp]imscared[/sp]
Canada has signed economical treaty with European Union so i'm sure Canadians aren't worried
he uh does know he have a free trade agreement with them... right?
What did we do?
What did we do?
Didn't join the US, obviously
he uh does know he have a free trade agreement with them... right?
It doesn't seem like he knows anything, based on the article in the OP.
It's unclear what type of tax he's referring to. Earlier this year, the administration dropped the idea of a border-adjustment tax in its since-passed fiscal reform, because of widespread opposition on Capitol Hill. The confusion was compounded by several factors: In the U.S., Congress sets tax rates — not the president. And the Congress, which just completed a major tax reform, has shown little inclination to hike taxes. Tariff rates, meanwhile, are negotiated at the WTO. The idea wasn't even mentioned in the White House's 2018 budget proposal — which was released Monday. The most specific clue Trump offered involved motorcycles. He complained that the U.S. brings in products tariff-free and other countries sometimes charge more than 50 per cent tariffs on the same product: "Harley-Davidson. They're treated very unfairly in various countries. You know the countries I'm talking about," Trump said. "So we're going to be doing very much a reciprocal tax." Those motorcycle tariffs are highest in Asia — they don't exist in North America.
Chicken Tax 2: Electric Boogaloo
Unbelievable. Now America's shit ass dictator of a president is trying to spread his bullshit into my country. Get fucked you orange knob.
Fucking christ he just can't not fuck things up How does someone not see him as a failure
I wonder what's going to happen to the Republicans' "we promise the economy will see 3% or better economic growth for the next decade and that pays for the $1.5 trillion in tax cuts we gave rich cunts" plan when Trump tears up NAFTA and shafts his own economy in the face. Canada will suffer, sure, but our economy's doing okay. America's economy is looking like it wants to suddenly plunge into a massive recession with no movement to lower interest rates to break out of it, and a big trade war could be just the thing needed to kick that collapse off. Go ahead, you bald orange hookerfucker, make my day.
America is on the brink of financial collapse anyway. The entire damn thing is hinging on everyone's promise to pay the debt they owe, whatever it may be. A few grand on a credit card here, their car payments there, student loans over here... It's ALL riding on debt. Surely it can't sustain
Lol I love how he thinks he can fix pretty much anything by fucking other countries. [editline]14th February 2018[/editline] In Trump's head: "You give us that thing because you are mean. You get nothing." "Oh okay. Whoa how did he do that?" THE DEALMASTER STRIKES AGAIN

After Trump, I'll be afraid of any future Rep running for pres cause so far, they all seem hell bent on fucking shit up. Trumps policies, if you can even call them that, are just massive strokes to his ego. Shit he prob fantasized about doing if he were pres.
How to be president: be a traitor and fuck up the people of the country.
Better alienate more trading partners
Free market is only fair if it benefits you I guess.
"We're gonna impeach him, right?" says increasingly worried gk99 He's doing his damnedest to make life hell for everyone, whether you live inside or outside America.
He's really digging a hole for America the next time it comes due to renegotiate trade agreements with all the countries he's tried to screw over.
