All over facebook, but not here, might as well post.
This made me scared to open the video for a second.
"What can I do to reach your level?" is not the same as "What was it like to revisit the character Eddie after a ten year hiatus?", thanks.
Missing the point. He was stating that simply posing a question to someone of Sean Penn's stature was meaningless because none of the students would get anywhere in their careers. I mean he exaggerates stuff to a comedic extent, that's his jobb. But if this remark reflects his views on young people's potential, then I feel sorry for a person with such a needlessly misanthropic and whiny outlook.
i honestly dont think thats the case. its louis c.k. for christ sake
Yes exactly - a bleak outlook on life is his schtick. But sometimes it comes off as forced and disconnected from reality. Don't get me wrong, though - I still find him really funny.
whoa a comedian said something that was exaggerated! stop the press! [editline]21st March 2014[/editline]
Yes exactly - a bleak outlook on life is his schtick. I kind of wish they hadn't included that ending scene as I was going to watch American Hustle sometime soon. It would have made that scene so much greater to witness
he's much smarter than he acts IMHO, he just says everything in like, a really retarded way
Well, that's the point with a lot of comedians who fit into the same niche of addressing issues of depression and feelings of emptiness in modern society through self-aware commentary on daily life. They use a very casual, stylized way of expressing themselves through language that mostly comes off as awkward and clumsy in order to connect with the audience as a normal dude with the same exaggerated quirks we all know we have. It gives you the feeling of being understood and instantly connecting with that person. Patton Oswalt pull this off perfectly imo.
you could have stopped watching when it cut to it..
How was I supposed to know? One second I'm seeing Louis C.K. and then Bradley Cooper comes storming in, and by that time the joke is already ruined.
