So it saves you the two minutes that it takes to download and install steam? Big whoop.
All of their PC's are retardedly overpriced, and those laptops are pieces of shit; You probably only get 30 minutes of battery life, and it probably runs at 90c after more then 10 minutes.
lol alienware

Yeah, with a game already pre-loaded on it saving you the several hours it takes to download that.

Portal? Several hours?
When I read the title I thought Steam was suddenly going to start selling Alienware PCs.
Does this mean I can download Alienware PCs on Steam :downs:
Portal? Several hours?
If you have shitty 64kb/s internet like me, yes :(
Portal? Several hours?
One of the only games you spend more time downloading than playing! :downs:
But, anyways, it's a really cool move, even though Alienware isn't the best PC manufacturer out there. Portal isn't really under the spotlight, and it really deserves to shine more.

Steam is now targeting the ignorant (and apparently rich) masses. Anyone with half a brain cell already has Steam installed you see.
Oh wow.
Interesting, I am getting an AlienWare for Christmas
I have to admit alienware cases are sexy as fuck
shit cooling, but cool looking
also shittiest tech support ever
bought a pc from them back when I was a freshman, they sent it DOA, spent 20hrs on techsupport over the course of a few days and finally got it working
turns out the mobo had some shorts in it - worked for about half a year and then totally died, forced to get a replacement
terrible company

Brb download some RAM and a new graphics card
What was the point of this deal Valve? I mean really.
Portal? Several hours?
We all know how short Portal is.
What was the point of this deal Valve? I mean really.
More Steam users.
Why Portal? Is there a single PC gamer that hasn't bought and played Portal already?
At least more people will be aware of steam.
Shame it is helping alienware out though.
I want refund for Portal!

Uhmm

Put it this way. Every PC gamer knows what Alienware is.
What if you already have a steam account? Does it assign the game to your account? Or do you have to make a new one to access portal?
I don't understand how this would work

Is it really that hard to understand?
You buy a new alienware pc, you get steam and portal installed.
It says it comes with it pre-loaded. I'm sure there will be a key code that you use on Steam to activate it, even on existing accounts.

You are an idiot. You have to have an account for them to credit you portal, unless they assign you an account. It would be more likely portal content comes preinstalled, and then you get a fancy card with a cd key on it.

I think he means does it make a new account for you or can you put the free portal game on an existing account.
