But for the region where it's been massively destabilized by the USA and the Arab Springs, it has the potential to do some damage, but if it does, the USA will stop them at Iraq.

It doesn't have to be their military. They influence Iraq's foreign policy and ship over supplies to syria, there are reports of Iranian UAV's flying in Syria.
