It is a common misconception that there are states which are better than Texas. Texas is the second most populous state in the United States (after California), boasting a population of 25,674,681, which is more than Wyoming, Vermont, North Dakota, Alaska, South Dakota, Delaware, Montana, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Maine, Hawaii, Idaho, Nebraska, West Virginia, New Mexico, Nevada, and Utah combined. Texas is the second largest state in the United States by area, comparable to the size of the country of Burma, or in other words, about 2.85 times the size of the entirety of your puny United Kingdom. Texas is the only US state to have ever been its own sovereign nation Texas possesses three of the Top Ten most populous cities in the U.S. - Houston, Dallas and San Antonio The Dallas-Fort Worth area has more residents - 6.9 million - than 39 U.S. states. For example, Colorado has about 5.0 million residents El Paso, Texas is closer to Needles, California (516 miles) than it is to Dallas, Texas (571 miles) Texas possesses 23,292 farms with 1,000 acres or more for a total of 132 million acres, or 80% of the state land area Texas is home to over 14 million cattle
What is Texas?
Those facts should give you a pretty good idea about what Texas is, but in case you don't already know, Practically the epitome of Americanism is the culture of Texas. Here is an artist's rendition of Dallas, Texas Although here's an actual picture Which is a more accurate depiction of the essence of Texas? I am a Texan and I don't even know.
In Conclusion
As you can see, Texas is an assbackwards mass of conservative farm hicks intermixed within large groups of Mexican immigrants, soccer moms, and your average American everyman. In conclusion, a wonderful and exciting place to live. My US History teacher owns a lot of ranches in Texas and he's pretty much an old fashion cowboy. I shit you not, he would regularly put a foot up on a chair (with cowboy boots on), and say "Everything's bigger in Texas boys", with a giant smirk. He was one of the best teachers
There you have it! A testimony. Indeed, Texas is borne to some of the greatest men the world has ever seen ahem
Austin, master race.
So are you guys a country yet?
So are you guys a country yet?
We've been a country before, and we can be a country again GO TEXAS
We've been a country before, and we can be a country again GO TEXAS
good luck
good luck
I predict it will go something like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rw_fdgaCWpo#t=3m38s except replace the Mexicans with the US military [editline]3:33[/editline] Well maybe the Battle of San Jacinto instead: "The Battle of San Jacinto, fought on April 21, 1836, in present-day Harris County, Texas, was the decisive battle of the Texas Revolution. Led by General Sam Houston, the Texian Army engaged and defeated General Antonio López de Santa Anna's Mexican forces in a fight that lasted just 18 minutes. About 630 of the Mexican soldiers were killed and 730 captured, while only 9 Texians died"
I hate this state.
God Bless Texas.
YAY TEXAS
I hope the most of the OP is sarcastic. I don't know a single person who owns a confederate flag.
Nope, it's completely serious
but my friend whos a redneck has a confederate flag on his ceiling above his bed so he can look at it while he goes to sleep :v:
Anybody else think that the talks of secession down here are a bit premature?
No, they're a bit completely unnecessary. Anybody with an ounce of common sense knows that talks of secession are completely ridiculous.

I love Texas, but I don't love the satellite internet living in rural Texas has forced me to cope with. :( Also, my family has a lot of historic Texan/rebel junk. My step-granddad has a Colt Navy cap and ball revolver made in 1856 that saw combat in the Civil War. Lots of old cowboy stuff too!

Because living in Plano, in the middle of a 250,000 person area and a negligible distance from a population of several million, I can't see shit when I look into the sky.
I can see more stars than I ever could living in Mansfield. It's a pretty sight, but it still doesn't compare to the view when you're at sea.

Only steers and queers come from Texas, Cowbow, and nobody on Facepunch is a steer so that kind of narrows it down! Are you a peter puffer? I bet you're the kind of guy who would fuck a person in the ass and not even have the goddamn common courtesy to give him a reach-around. I'll be watching you!
I'd love to visit texas. But I wouldn't tell anyone there I'm European. Might think I'm a communist. :v:
I'd love to visit texas. But I wouldn't tell anyone there I'm European. But if you're going to act like that, thinking all texas are going to call you communist, dont come please.

I live in San Antonio. When I first moved here from California, I used to hate it. But I kinda like this place, except during summer.
I live in Odessa. Because of an oil boom going on right now, a lot of people are poor and multiple families are bunching up in houses. While people in the oil business are livin it up.
