• Cardio / Muscle gain dilemma

Sorry for the Shitpost but I need some advice from you guys. I recently lost 65lbs by cycling at the gym for an hour almost everyday for 5 months and eating well. I've moved house now and there isn't a gym nearby enough to be able to justify spending money to get there every day so I'm looking to invest in some equipment at home. My current goal is: Get about another 14lbs of fat off and start to tone up properly all over. Here are my prominent choices: - Buy a cycling machine for my cardio workout and use it every day and purchase some weights to tone my muscles - Buy a Rowing machine for full body workout (cardio and toning up). Perhaps weights on the side. Bear in mind my shoulder joints arn't in the best condition and tend to crack a little when i've been on the rowing a lot (this is why i settled for cycling at my old gym). Also the option is open to visit the gym up to 3 times a week ontop of the stuff above. I guess what I'm asking is: What are the benefits of buying a rowing machine for a combination of cardio and muscle toning, and would it be better to focus on cardio for fat loss and proper weights for toning. Cheers

Actually i'd rather not risk further injury.. The whole idea of me exercising is to improve my quality of living, not bragging to people on the interwebs.
I deadlift heavy with a knee injury involving 3 metal plates, 6 screws and 2 wires inside my leg no excuses kunt
but you sure as hell don't squat heavy. well maybe you do, but it sounds like it'd be a tad painful. [editline]20th October 2012[/editline] to op: rowing machines are a workout in themselves if they are anything like rowing boat. I feel like you're right in your thinking that the rowing will build muscle tone while burning fat, especially if you focus on a low weight endurance style.
