[QUOTE]A Berkeley County man used online social media to threaten to shoot up his former high school, according to the county’s sheriff.
Justin M. Light, 21, of Kearneysville, is charged with making terroristic threats, Sheriff Kenny Lemaster said. Light was taken into custody around 1:30 a.m. Monday.
Police said Light hacked in to the account of another Twitter user, Berkeley County resident Ashton Meyers.
“[Meyers’] family has been hearing a lot,” Lemaster said. “At first he was being blamed for it. Those were incorrect accusations against him.”
Light allegedly said he was planning to shoot up Musselman High School on Monday.
Police said he threatened to specifically target the high school principal, Holly Kleppner, as well as black people, using a racial slur.
Police said they determined Light’s identity by tracing his IP address.
