Story: The recently discovered oil of the Kraysh plains have thrown the indigenous people and their land into turmoil as armies come to claim the land and it's rich resources. The Krayshan Oil Fields have been scenes of fierce wars, and has turned a once beautiful countryside into a Scorched Earth...

Resources it is, and I think the reason you think it looks weird is because it's supposed to be some sort of APC.

its not a meteor, it's an oil well burning up (an artillery round took out most of the well itself
