A jury found him guilty in August, and his 5-year sentence is a compromise between recommendations from the prosecutor and Khang’s defense attorney. He is not eligible for early release programs, sources said. "Fortunately, the officer was armed and able to defend himself," Wood County Circuit Judge Greg Potter said. I was just about to say (before i read that you said the 21 foot rule) that if you are chargin at someone with a knife, you can be stabbed from REALLY far away.

It is used for any type of melee weapons (baseball bats, golf clubs, knifes, etc)
