Haven't played Lead and Gold, but Shattered Horizon is only fun for around a weekend or so, if even.
Shattered Horizon is the most underplayed, underrated game in the entire universe.

huh, every time I click "click here to play lead and gold now", it just sends me back to the app page.
And they're not in my library...
Lead and Gold is cool.

Lead and Gold is awesome, and definitely worth your time and money.
Shattered Horizon... isn't. Ultimately, it really doesn't have anything going for it. There used to be a "do-everything" weapon which was at least a novel idea, but it got replaced by horribly generic weapons like a machine gun, a sniper, a pistol, etc. On top of that, the shooting generally feels awful and weirdly inert. Levels are bland, and the zero gravity effect is novel for five seconds until you realize you can't actually aim whilst moving through the air so you'll always end up sticking to solid ground anyways.
Oh, and for all it's DirectX 10 exclusivity, it still manages to look pretty middling.

I disagree. I thought the zero-g environments never really lost their touch. I felt like I could play many different ways, and had a new element to consider when playing.
I guess it just appealed to me more since I've always dreamed of being in space, and was a huge fan of the "Ender's Game" series of books. It's a shame people didn't receive it as well as I did. It'd be nice to have more people to play with.

Restarting steam fixed it for me.

It's OK. You can mostly find at least one or two servers with people playing. Sometimes it seems dead, but take into account the fact that, inexplicably, the server browser does not show full servers.

It's funny how the only two games that had free weekends in the past that I've played recently are getting another one again.

I'd say it's correctly rated. It feels like a gimmick, the gameplay just doesn't hold up for more than 10 minutes.
SH Is Awesome! Though it seems people only go for fucking Kill Death Ratio instead of the fucking caps!

No, because I hated it only due to the fact that majority of populated servers last free week end were unplayable, and crashed every minutes.
