I half expected this to be satire and for the floor to break underneath him, sending him to the other demon.

This guy basically WANTS the game to hold his hand all the way through, even though he says that's not what he wants. When a game that is hard comes out in this age of super-easy games some people can't handle that they have to go through everything on their own and not being told what to do. Remember old games? Att he start of and before the year 2000 I mean. They didn't hold your hand all the way through, you had to EXPERIMENT and find your own way since they expected people to think on their own and take initiative. Most of todays games don't, and I get the impression this guy basically played too many of those kind of games.
I am pretty much 100% sure that this is a joke. If he didn't know how to work the weapons, he would be using the broken sword instead of his fists.
If you need a trainer to beat the Asylum Demon, then you should probably just give up video games. It's not a hard boss at all- sure you might die a couple times but it takes literally 30 seconds to get back to the boss fight and after you know his 3 attacks he becomes very easy. I'm sick of people bitching about DkS being hard- it's not, it's probably one of the easier games I've played, you just have to be persistent and not give up after dying a couple times. Games these days condition people to be soft and expect the game to hold their fucking hands through all the hard parts, and I think that's why DkS doesn't have a large popular following.

i did not made the video and i don't even have dark souls \:v:/ (i have it on the ps3 but i give it to a friend and i cant buy the pc version because its not available in my region)
