Mike Fahey — Leland Beasley, the 43-year-old owner of the Gamestation Sector 19 video game stores in St. Louis County, Missouri, has been sentenced to 290 years in prison for the possession and production of child pornography, videos he recording during all-night gaming sessions at his place of business.
In the harshest federal sentence for child porn ever handed down in the eastern district of Missouri, Beasley will be spending a fraction of the following 3,480 months in prison, after being found guilty of ten counts of production of child pornography and two counts of possession of child pornography.
As the owner of the popular Gamestation Sector 19 video game store on Lemay Ferry Road in St. Louis, Beasley didn't have to hunt for his victims; they came directly to him. Leland held sleepover events at his store on a regular basis starting in 2006. During these events he would fondle sleeping boys, videotaping himself performing lewd actions on the sleeping youths.
During a trial that took place in April, Beasley's victims took the stand. They had to watch the videos taken of them, describing to the court what was happening. According to Lt. Chris Mateja, the deputy director of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, Beasley denied being in the videos, despite his obvious presence. ""He never showed any remorse either. The judge made note of that in her sentencing today."
Beasley still faces charges for the actual molestation of his victims. In January he was charged with one count of child molestation. In February a St. Louis Country grand jury upped those charges to two counts of first-degree child molestation, five counts of first-degree statutory sodomy, two counts of third-degree assault and attempted statutory sodomy. These charges are in addition to the child pornography charges that netted him nearly 300 years in jail.
I always wonder how that awkward moment when someone finds your CP tapes plays out
I wonder if they're going to let him play D&D in jail.

It's probably just me but that seems way too harsh
Oh gross they had to watch a video of a guy wanking on them.

While the guy had a smug smile on his face.

it's 290 years though. most of it will probably be knocked off.
note that they didn't use the life sentence, because you can reduce time served. he'll serve like, 10 years, at most. still a really bad punishment, but he deserves it.
EDIT:
dont know what you folks are disagreeing about. he's gonna get reduced time, it's not gonna stick with 290 years.
290 years? Man I hope he behaves so he can get out after half the sentence.
I laughed at "Attempted Sodomy"
290 years? Man I hope he behaves so he can get out after half the sentence.
Why, it's not like he'll be able to live through half of that.

his face just screams "child pornographer"
290 years? Man I hope he behaves so he can get out after half the sentence.
Thats still 145 years.

It was sarcasm.

How in the world does "a 290-year jail sentence is too harsh" translate to "let's not punish this guy."

It's like you can just smell the pedophilia
He desrves every second of that sentence.
So when he dies are they going to leave his corpse in the cell and still assume he is alive?
Because there was one incident in which a family in Scotland was accused of treason a few centuries back, and the king wanted their lands. So he had their dead bodies dug up and put on trial.

You really think kids do all-nighters?
why do they always give these people ridiculous sentences?
You really think kids do all-nighters?
Casuals
Casuals
No you are the fucking casual. Real bros do it all week.
Or until they die of sleep deprivation, either way anybody who does less than reaching the point of hallucinations are casuals.
why do they always give these people ridiculous sentences?
So they can't get out, a life sentence isn't always actually a life sentence. For instance Bernie Madoff got something around 140 years.
wait 290 years?
holy
This was posted on Kotaku? Dude's probably been released already.
why do they always give these people ridiculous sentences?
Because they did terrible things.
It's like you can just smell the pedophilia
you mean smell the young boys on him?
A child predator gets more jail time than most murderers. Only in the glorious US of A.
""He never showed any remorse either. The judge made note of that in her sentencing today."
I don't know if he's even capable of showing remorse... Just look at that face.
