A two-year-old boy who throws a fit when refused a cigarette has provoked fresh horror over the rise in Indonesia' nicotine-addicted youth.
Ardi Rizal smoked his first cigarette when he was 18 months old.
Now the boy's father admits he is addicted.
"He cries and throws tantrums when we don't let him smoke," the father told a Sriwijaya Post reporter who visited his home at a fishing village in Indonesia's South Sumatra province.
"I'm not worried about his health &— he looks healthy."
There has been an increase in the number of smokers aged between four and nine in Indonesia over recent years.
Authorities blame aggressive advertising and parents who are smokers.
But a bill banning cigarette advertising and sponsorship has been stalled due to opposition from the tobacco industry, the Daily Mail reports.
"If cigarette advertising is not banned, there will be more kids whose lives are threatened before of smoking," a spokesman from Indonesia's Industry Ministry said.
He said the government had lowered cigarette produce, increased cigarette taxes and limited public smoking areas.
What a smoky situation they're in. Yes, lame pun.
That kid looks like a mini drug lord.
Oh god, seriously?
That's pretty fucking smart, let your kid smoke like that
I agree.

that was quite shit....
but their parents must be proud... born and raised a smoker
It's dissapointing thinking of all the health problems this kid will have in the future. He's not going to have an easy life.
They must have made him smoke, I don't think an 18 months old baby is able to have or express a wish to start smoking.
I agree, and this is what makes these news even more disgusting.
Idiots shouldn't be able to get offspring for crying out loud
More uneducated then anything.

Found a video... I think thats him...
Can you guys see it?
why would the parents even let their kid go that long without a smoke
the kid shouldn't have to whine. it's bad parenting if they can't hook him up with at least a pack a day
fucking retarded parents
blaming it on aggressive advertisements, pishposh!

Look? LOOK?
You can look healthy and die of sickness the day after! :frown:
What about when he starts to look unhealthy? Will they stop then, or go on?

8 YEAR OLD CANCER PATIENT
Oh...
"I'm not worried about his health &— he looks healthy."
My grandad "looked fine" when he was hospitalised after a lifetime of heavy smoking. Just because he looks fine on the outside doesn't mean he is on the inside.
The parents are retarded.

Incredibly retarded.
If he was my kid I would've slapped the shit out of him for crying and complaining that he can't smoke at that age!! This is just unbelievable my god
I think it's time they go train spotting on his ass and make him come off em cold turkey.

It would be your fault for getting the kid addicted in the first place.
You'd be the one needing the shit slapping, the kid would need help.

He's two years old, and his parents have practically forced him into it (if you don't have a reason to start smoking, you won't take a second go at smoking when the smoke hurts).

From 0 to 1
Ayn rand told her readers that smoking wasn't bad for you, and that if someone says it is, that's just a soviet lie trying to keep down your freedom
1: a two-year old, REALLY?
2: do the tobacco industries have any guilt, any?
3: If Not, FUCK THEM!!!

This isn't the tobacco industry, it's terrible parenting, ads don't work on 18 month old kids.
Hes probably going to be dead before his 10th birthday
Yup, we won't be seeing him for long.
