The report is based on survey answers from more than 9,000 respondents, collected between 2011 and 2013. Participants were asked about their sexual experiences, as well as which sexual orientations they identified with.
The contrast between reported sexual orientation and actual, IRL sexual experience is where things get interesting. Just 1.9% of men in the report identified as gay, while 2% said they were bisexual. And yet: 6.2% of men reported having had same-sex sexual encounters. So openly gay dudes actually made up thesmallest group of men who've had gay sex among the respondents? Ooh, that's interesting.
"straight"
if i'm interpreting OP right, all it actually means is that some 5% of straight men have experimented with other dudes in some way or another
not a crazy claim at all, and the OP article is trying hard to sensationalize the data

Well I mean, what is the title of this subforum?
"straight"
Bisexual then. Not a big deal either way; our relatives, bonobos, do this kind of stuff routinely with each other. Maybe it's just like Ancient Roman hedonism, and it's a case of where "anything goes so long as it brings me pleasure"?
Depends on what the surveyees defined as sexual encounters tbh. I know a lot of dudes who will happily bang girls in front of each other, but they'd never actually engage in sexual activities with each other.
i think they took the saying "it's only gay if the balls touch" a little too seriously
what if sexuality was a spectrum and these guys are just "mostly straight"
not gay in a three way.... with all men.
"straight"
It's only gay if you're sexually attracted. There's nothing gay about two bros pounding each others asses or drowning your friend's cock in your saliva
a blowjob is a blowjob
a blowjob is a blowjob
Not if it's a prank

Any port in a storm, as they say.

this statement is far too broad to make me comfortable with it

A joke.

I'd agree with you.
a blowjob is a blowjob
"brojob"
man where can i get some of this man on man action?
does it specify whether or not the men declared "no homo"
Sure theyre not just bi? or bi curious?
Girls experiment with other girls and it's fine, but guys experimenting with other guys is considered wrong
I don't get two things about this:
1) There's only a 2.1% difference between men who claimed to be gay or bisexual and men who had sex with another man. That's not a lot more, and seems easy to explain as people have already mentioned.
2) Women had a MUCH bigger difference, yet it's not the focus. 6.2% of women said that they were either gay or bisexual, but 17.4(!) of women said they had sex with another woman. Basically an entire fifth of the women under the age of 34 had a sexual encounter with another woman.

Satire?
its just a good fun time banging bitches with my homie. there aint nothing gay bout that.
I guess this is basically the same as girls experimenting with kissing other girls and that sort of thing. Something that they'll try just out of curiosity before settling in on "Yeah I prefer to be with (insert gender here)"
[del]Sexual experience =/= sex. What a stupid title.[/del]
There's a difference between a Dutch Rudder and fucking a man in the ass.
Not once in my life did I ever think I would type that sentence.
edit: I misread. Oh my.

It clearly specifies for that it means anal and oral sex for men.

After re-reading the entire article I decided to look at the specific questions they asked people in the report.
They quite literally asked people 'has another man put his penis inside your anus?' etc oh my. That's quite literal. Like, the 3% of people that they surveyed that consciously said they were straight admitted to either putting a dick in their mouth, anus, or their dick in some other man's mouth or anus. Isn't that really against the thing they just said a few minutes before they asked that question? :v:
Or is this a very dark look into gay rape since the report doesn't mention the word 'consensual' or 'consent' or 'rape' even once in it. I don't think the surveyors specified if the sex had to be consensual at all.
I mean makes sense to me. I experimented with dudes a bit this year just to try it out. Found out I'm pretty straight, couldn't get into anything past making out.
