What song is in that that isn't the rap one?
Ocean Man by Ween (it's not even their best song)
what's great about this editing? it's literally just a filter
"Hotline" should not be a buzzword for 80s retro futuristic aesthetics. It's much closer to Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon than Hotline Miami other than music choice.
Somewhat related I'm so fucking tired of people just tossing vector graphics in the background.
what's great about this editing? it's literally just a filter
I think he meant how the clips were used rather than the effects
I want to like it but I'm not sure what the editing philosphy behind a lot of the clip choices was... [editline]3rd August 2017[/editline] Actually, this reminds me of some videos in the same vein I was watching earlier. I was watching this: and noticed similar videos in the sidebar, but they just feel derivative or imitative rather than interesting in their own right or expanding on the idea of the original. It's just music (and in the OP's case, effects) laid over random clips.
"Hotline" should not be a buzzword for 80s retro futuristic aesthetics. It's much closer to Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon than Hotline Miami other than music choice.
But the song is literally from Hotline Miami?
Yeah, this isn't really "Hotline," it's more "spongewave" if such a thing exists in the same vein as simpsonwave [sp]Imagine being from a few decades ago, being shown that sentence, and being told it means something in 2017[/sp]

i unironically love simpsonwave

This exists and actually has a coherent story wtf
what's great about this editing? it's literally just a filter
I just really like the clip choice, like when the song dies down and all the clips the guy chose was the same shade of blue, and they were all really unsettling (or at least for spongebob) This is at about 2:02 Yeah I noticed that the editing wasn't all that good, so I updated the text in the post, but stupidly I accidentally put (great editing) in the title.
