[Release]Bah Humbug. Faced with a difficult budget to balance, officials in New York’s Suffolk County were forced to fire Santa Claus last week in order to save $660, Reuters News Agency reported. David McKell, 83, a World War II veteran and former homicide police detective, had donned the magic red suit on Long Island for more than nine years. County executive committee members argued that it was difficult to pay Santa Claus when another 750 county employees were facing possible layoffs due to budget challenges.[/release]

Poor Santa
Considering his previous employments, he should be able to survive off pension quite comfortably.
Still sad.
It's ok, Santa has jobs elsewhere I assume.
Well no christmas this year, it's over boys.
I live in Suffolk
I'll keep a lookout for the absence of santas
Christmas is ruined.
"Mommy, why isn't Santa here?"
"Well, the economy is bad and he got laid off."
More presents for the rest of us then
Stephen Colbert's SuperPAC is going to re-hire him.
