This morning Tom Morello, guitarist of legendary rap-metal band Rage Against The Machine, confirmed earlier this morning that if 'Killing In The Name' were to get to No.1 in the UK singles chart then they would play a huge free victory gig in the UK. From Tom Morello's Twitter:
NEWS FLASH: RAGE ANNOUNCE THEY WILL PLAY MASSIVE FREE VICTORY GIG IN UK IF "KILLING IN THE NAME" IS NUMBER ONE XMAS SINGLE!!! Let's go!!!!
Fuck I'm so excited now, today's the last day you can buy! So go nuts if you want Rage to play the UK next year!!
It's not really free if they make thousands and thousands of dollars worth of kickbacks off one of their old songs
10bawx says that sadly some crappy Hannah Montana or a shitty Rap single will beat it anyways.
Isn't it kind of ironic that they're trying to coerce their fans into purchasing a song en masse that goes "fuck you I won't do what you tell me"
Baww... This is the ONE time I wish I lived in the UK. Damn being on the other side of the world.

Damn, I'm going to this gig then. with all my freinds
Yeah, postal services won't deliver the CD where you live.
I want to go to the show broseph. I want to see them live, not watch them on a CD.
I want to go to the show broseph. I want to see them live, not watch them on a CD.
Get a plane ticket or something then.
Get a plane ticket or something then.
That would be an unreasonable sum of money to see one show.
It's not really free if they make thousands and thousands of dollars worth of kickbacks off one of their old songs
In that case, 0.40p isn't that high of a price for a ticket
Isn't it kind of ironic that they're trying to coerce their fans into purchasing a song en masse that goes "fuck you I won't do what you tell me"
Have a million billion clocks.
They're donating all the extra money to charity anyway.... they're not profiting off this at all. A free gig would be epic, but chances are it'd be in London so there's no way I'd be able to go.
The most ironic campaign in existence gets crazier and crazier.
Rock on RATM.
Aw man FUCK you UKers
It's not really free if they make thousands and thousands of dollars worth of kickbacks off one of their old songs
They are donating any sales money they get to charity.
The most ironic campaign in existence gets crazier and crazier.
It's not ironic in the slightest. It wasn't until the group reached about 700,000 Rage actually officially gave their support... they didn't kickstart this for their own benefit. They aren't making any profit at all from the sales, it's all going to the Shelter charity. Shelter have also rased roughly £30,000 in excess donations from the Facebook group. Rage are signed to Simon Cowells record label, but this isn't a campaign to steal money from Simon. It's a campaign to say we're fucking sick of getting corporate mainstream bullshit shoved down our throats. You say it as if we're substituting one piece of modern day mainstream shit for another which isn't the case. It's about the song's message.
Isn't it kind of ironic that they're trying to coerce their fans into purchasing a song en masse that goes "fuck you I won't do what you tell me"
Oh wow, now that i think about it...... No, as this isn't for their benefit.
Fuck YEAH!! Rage for Christmas No. 1.
Isn't it kind of ironic that they're trying to coerce their fans into purchasing a song en masse that goes "fuck you I won't do what you tell me"
For the UK concert, they changed the lyrics to "Pardon, but I'd rather not do that."
Rage are signed to Simon Cowells record label, .
Common Mis-conception. Simon's record label is owned by Sony, RATM's record label is also owned by Sony ( Edge I believe?) Simon Cowell has nothing to do with RATM, they are just both under Sony's rule. Although, a free Rage gig would be fantastic, I would consider going down south just to see it as it will surely be in London)

As much as I hate this whole cynical campaign, Joe came out with some immense faggotry yesterday and therefore I hope Rage Against My Homework wins.
Isn't it kind of ironic that they're trying to coerce their fans into purchasing a song en masse that goes "fuck you I won't do what you tell me"
Did you forget context?
For the UK concert, they changed the lyrics to "Pardon, but I'd rather not do that."
"Heck no, I won't do what you tell me."
"Heck no, I won't do what you tell me."
"Buggar off you wankers" "No sodden way lads!"
Hey now, down with that sort of thing. [editline]12:15PM[/editline] (careful now)
Joe came out with some immense faggotry yesterday
What's this?
This is a reply from Joe on mirror news or something. I always wanted to know what his view on it was. _______________ "X Factor winner Joe McElderry was sickened when he finally listened to his big rival for Christmas number one this year. On the back of a huge Facebook campaign, Rage Against The Machine’s ‘Killing In The Name Of’ may beat Joe’s single ‘The Climb’ to the number one spot this Sunday. Up until now Joe hasn’t offered an opinion on the song, saying that he doesn’t know it, or the band. However yesterday the 18 year old had it played for him and he wasn’t a bit pleased with what he heard. He told The Sun: “They can’t be serious! I had no idea what it sounded like. It’s dreadful and I hate it. How could anyone enjoy this? Can you imagine the grandmas hearing this over Christmas lunch? “I wouldn’t buy it. It’s a nought out of ten from me. Simon Cowell wouldn’t like it. They wouldn’t get through to boot camp on The X Factor – they’re just shouting.” Joe added: “I will be really disappointed if it doesn’t go to No1 after all the effort I’ve put in to this and winning the show.” _____________________ How can you be a music star when you haven't even HEARD of Rage against the machine? It's like that Misteeq woman on I'm a Celebrity get me out of here?!, where she didn't even know one of her own songs, on her own album for a task question (Someone else got it).
