I found an "old" bass gitar. I think it's like 20-30 yrs old. I have no idea really. I don't really think it's worth anything, but I was wondering if anyone here has heard about it. I believe it says "Hanes" on the top. But I'm not sure about the H and S. So It might be something else. I'm sure about the "ane" so anyone know of any bass guitars called "Hanes" or "?-ane-?"
Only ones I know of with -ane- is Ibanez. Post a picture so we can get a better idea of what it looks like.
should be a ID number on the back of the headstock
I'm also curious, please send a picture.
Please take a pic.
Alright I'll get on it. I really just think it's some generic mass produced cheap stuff, but I just wanna make sure. The case it's in looks kinda cheap as well, tho I don't know the standard quality of a bass gitar case back in the 80-90's. Edit: Probably says Ibanez. Looks pretty much like Ibanez now when I look. I just assumed the IB was an H, dunno why, looks like one lol. Didn't see any serial number or any other writings at all, only says Japan on the backside. Uploading the pictures in a few. Why didn't you take a picture of the headstock? That seems like the obvious thing to take a picture of if you wanted people to identify it. I found a picture of a 71 Ibanez bass. Seems to be the one on the right, with a different headstock. I got it from here. It has a different headstock, but I guess they made some with that different headstock. It looks pretty neat, though. So I guess it's a bit older than i thought if what that guy says is true. 1968 or 69. Kinda cool I guess. Edit: Also, I did take a picture of the headstock, just forgot to upload it as well. So here:
In that shape it could be worth over 500 dollars.
In that shape it could be worth over 500 dollars.
Why sell it? I say It belongs in a case! Or if you feel courageous enough, in your very own hands.
Looks to be in really good condition for the age. You could get a decent amount of money for it, or you could play it.
I don't play, so I'll do some more research on it's value and either sell it or keep it longer and sell it later, when it's worth even more.
I'll give you 300 for it right now
I don't play, so I'll do some more research on it's value and either sell it or keep it longer and sell it later, when it's worth even more.
Keeping it so you can sell it for $100 more 6 years later is stupid in my opinion. You will earn the inflation worth (a decision mind you, that is backed on a whim that it would inflate), in less than a week from working a full time job.
Still got it or did you flip it already? I'd be willing to buy it for $350. vintage Ibanez was a fad on talkbass a few months ago and I don't think you'll ever get that sort of price out of them again
i'll give all my money for that (£58)
