That lewd Angewomon talk came out of fucking nowhere and completely caught me off guard. :wow: [sp]Wargreymon is best waifu tho[/sp] Other than that, that was a pretty decent review.
Oh god I lost my shit on the Brazillian theme, it was so fucking bad man
I remember really liking Digimon but I barely remember it anything about it.
I remember really liking Digimon but I barely remember it anything about it.
I also remember being an avid fan of the series and movies back then and I have no clue how did I forget hundred of episodes so easily. All I can remember right now with a quick review is "who can count backwards from ten?", Leomon making his best impression of Krilin every time he had to do something, and Wizardmon's death.
"Emphasis on cream" Jesus Christ I need an adult after that. I still have a digimon play station 1 controller, from before the days of dual shock.
Leomon making his best impression of Krilin every time he had to do something
and as always [sp]he dies in every appearance[/sp] [sp]Cept for the V-Tamers one, he is the only one who survived Toei's onslaught[/sp]
It's strange how I remember watching the first four series/seasons of Digimon but I can't really remember much about them. With the first series, I kind of gathered most of the major plot points or pieced them together in hindsight while watching Digimon Adventure 2; but I really couldn't tell you much else aside from little snippets here and there. Most of my experience with the first series was with a video I had of three episodes with Meramon (I think that's the fire dude's name), the cyborg dude, and the giant teddy bear. The second series I caught a little more often since I had more access to Fox Kids as I was living in the states at the time. At the time, I thought it was really cool seeing the old cast older and passing the torch. That, and the stories seemed more appealing to me. Digimon Tamers, or whatever other name it was known by, is probably the one I remember the most and the most fondly. I remember having a lot darker tone than the last two (which, in cartoons, darker and more adult tones appeal to me even way back then) and just seemed to follow a more interesting concept throughout. I also think that the music was a lot better. The US Digimon theme is iconic (to me) to those more youthful series, but the music in Tamers seemed to give it a more dramatic edge; which, again, appealed me. I was kind of disappointed that it wasn't a continuation of the first two and retconned them. What's strange about Tamers is that I watched it in the Philippines and I distinctly remember the voice cast, but to date, I have been unable to find a version that matches it. I mean, it could be a Mandela Effect thing, but I swear the English dub from the US is not at all like the English dub I watched in the Philippines (which, to me, matched a hell of a lot better than the US' annoying ones). A difference I noticed between the one I watched and the US dub is that the US one uses the original [US] Digimon theme, where as the dub I watched used the Japanese intro. Frontier was where I started losing interest. Maybe I was just outgrowing it or there was something about the concept, story, and characters that I didn't quite like. I think it may have also been because it felt like another recycled version of the first two series with the same archetypes just with different visuals. The Digimon designs were kind of cool, though.
I remembered when Digimon Tamers went Evangelion on the last dozen episodes or so. Mostly because they get inside their giant digimon naked.
I remembered when Digimon Tamers went Evangelion on the last dozen episodes or so. Mostly because they get inside their giant digimon naked.
That's because Digimon Tamers was written by the same guy who made Evangelion.
That's because Digimon Tamers was written by the same guy who made Evangelion.
No it wasn't, don't mix up your 90s psychological anime. It was directed by the director of Serial Experiments Lain, and the series composition and script was done by the person who did the same for other cheerful shows like Texhnolyze.
The only thing I remember from the Digimon anime is that one episode where one of the kids was sent back to the day where the group was heading into the Digi-World, but he was in a Digimon and couldn't do anything but fail in his attempts at stopping the group from heading on the journey they would go. I don't remember which one of the seasons that was.

A few years ago I rewatched the first season with my brother. We enjoyed it, laughing at the cheesiness and talking about old memories. Damn does it start out slow though, the first 2 or 3 episodes are boring.
Frontier. The only episode I remember finding memorable in a bad season.
I'm gonna have to find the German dub of that episode for nostalgia's sake. Thanks for the lead, mate.
