Considering how apparently there is a Deus Ex movie in development (which is probably in development hell and will never see the light of day). They really should base it off of this whole Mechanical apartheid scenario. I feel a whole movie with higher budget and less cheesy writing/acting could actually have potential.
Either way, it's always nice to hear more of Michael McCanns works.
God those VTOLs look so fucking nice.
It looks like DX: MD and Cyberpunk 2077 will have the same theme of augs going out of control which is interesting.
This trailer is incredible. I think the biggest thing that makes it actually believable is that it can happen in a not too distant future, if you think about it.
I remember when people got butthurt over their use of the word 'apartheid' last year. Glad they didn't back down.
Was that a parody of Judge Jeanine at 1:52 jesus.

There's also an Alex Jones parody in there, something that was also in Human Revolution IIRC.

It's not really the same with Deus Ex as Cyberpunk (spoiler warning for Human Revolution ahead):
[sp] At the end of Human Revolution, a giant transmitter sends out a signal that caused augmented people to go haywire and randomly attack others, which ended up killing a shitload of people. As a result this "mechanical apartheid" starts where since people are afraid of augments they start being Nazis about them. The difference between DX and CP is that Cyberpunk has augmented people going insane all the time, whereas in DX it was just one time that had a huge effect on the world.[/sp]
'Anonymous', Alex Jones, Fox News... It's beautiful

CP2077 isn't remotely about that. It's an entire city steeped in multiple stories and various issues.
The trailer they put out was literally just a "we're making a game" marketing gimmick. Not remotely linked to the main story just one small scenario in the grander scheme of things.
The point of CP2077 is Cyberpunk as a whole not just one political avenue.
its pretty ironic considering this is supposed to reflect that problem
Yeah well some people are stupid and think acknowledging social problems and represent that they happen is the same as endorsing them.
its pretty ironic considering this is supposed to reflect that problem
Not to mention the two people who are credited with pitching the idea are black and asian.
I always liked non-gameplay trailers that set the mood for both the gameplay and story. Especially in a series like Deus Ex corporations and conspiracies.
as much as I like the atmosphere and aesthetics of DX:HR I can't stop thinking that none of that "bionic limbs have a hidden kill switch" would fly in real life, like, the government should prevent that kind of shit
it works in deus ex because [sp]the loominatys are behind everything and their plans are too complicated for you to understand[/sp]
What a time to be a Deus Ex fan.

The whole "crazy switch" thing was under the guise of a required chip firmware upgrade. Really not that far-fetched of a smoke-screen.
That electronic beat that starts at 2:15. god, I love michael mccann.
Augmented Humans are better Humans.

Things like the NSA exists
DX:HR had multiple endings, which one had that [sp]"go apeshit" transmitter[/sp]? Or did they all? Don't remember.

[sp]It happened before you even go out to Panchea in the first place, it's why Adam heads there to stop it. The endings don't dissuade that it happened, merely choosing to reveal the truth or hide it in varying methods with the 'best choice' being to just destroy Panchea, kill everyone there to bury this part of the conspiracies, and let the world find its own answers.[/sp]
Mankind Divided doesn't choose any of these endings and there's no save transfer system, but the first trailer showed [sp]the ruins of Panchea and Adam being recovered[/sp] so it's implied the [sp]destruction[/sp] ending happened irregardless of any choice made - or was the main one they continued from anyway.

That was the cause for all of the endings
when it was originally revealed, i thought the whole "mechanical apartheid" thing sounded like a hamfisted analogy
this trailer makes it seem a bit less so, still have my doubts though

I fucking hate that ending. [sp]Doing nothing is as much as taking an active choice in future events as anything else, on top of all those fuckers you killed[/sp]

It's also worth pointing out that not every Augmented person was affected, Jensen primarily but you also have Pritchard, Malik, Sarif, Zhao. There's also a random civilian in Sarifs 'safe' area at Panchea with an augmented arm as well (iirc i may be wrong on that one, but if im not there's a high probabilty of that person being a sarif employee).
It could have been that Sarif Employees were 'fixed' in house but Pritchard himself states he's heading to a limb clinic to get checked out so i doubt thats the case.

I put the ' ' around it because it has unique circumstances and something about it feels like the other endings are superfluous compared to it, not to mention the fact that MD seems to carry off from it. Honestly, making the endings a choice system in such a blunt way made me hate all of them.
That was a phenomenal trailer, I would watch a movie of that trailer.

I seriously doubt every person with a prosthetic limb will have some 'order 66' style device synced to their brain, thats just retarded.
DX's art direction is so good.
