After getting screwed over trying to buy a legit copy of Win 7 I think I'll just buy Win 10 instead. What price are we looking at?
I guess I'll schedule a format for August, then! Hope it's as good as it was praised around here on the forums.
I got a little icon on my taskbar saying that I can reserve a win10 download, on the fence if I should do it
Free upgrade for those who have Windows 7 or 8.
Which would be wonderful if i owned a copy of either, which I don't.
interesting
Yes, well that's what happen when someone sells you what they claim is a retail edition of Win 7 only it turn out to be a business license.
Yes, well that's what happen when someone sells you what they claim is a retail edition of Win 7 only it turn out to be a business license.
Get what you pay for. That's why you don't dick around looking for OEM licences. I purchased Windows 8 Pro the week it was released from Office Works for $50. No back alley money exchange from a dodgy .ru website.
Spec sheet was down when making the thread Updated it now of course What's interesting, is that the source claims that you need a Microsoft account. I wonder if this is actually a requirement, or just that optional thing you need for a 'windows experience.' like cortana and shit People already kicked up a fuss about it in the tech preview

It was also on eBay so I sorta gave the cunt the finger when I had them give me my money back. There's no need to be a dick about someone trying to find something that isn't sold in the shops anymore.
Looking great. I wonder whether it's best to format my HDD and install Windows 7 again and just upgrade it later, or install 10 when it comes from scratch.
Do they have 8.x upgrade keys for cheaper?
They don't have any of them, but the cheapest I could find was their OEM keys for 31 AUD.
How do you reserve the upgrade on 8.1?
How do you reserve the upgrade on 8.1?
there should be a little windows icon in your taskbar.
I'll be able to upgrade on my birthday, woo.
Win 7 works fine and I don't need any of that touchscreen crap, thanks
If you install 10, will it format your PC? Cause last time when I installed 8 it did just that.
Win 7 works fine and I don't need any of that touchscreen crap, thanks
ultimately it is your call if you choose to ignore every single article, photo, or video, or any other bit of information, but it is your loss when you remain with an outdated operating system.
If you install 10, will it format your PC? Cause last time when I installed 8 it did just that.
Should get a window like this [t]http://www.windows8core.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/Upgrade-Windows-8-to-8.1-5.png[/t] You must of not been able to preserve your data for whatever reason, but the assistant will tell you if it needs to do a clean install
Win 7 works fine and I don't need any of that touchscreen crap, thanks
You think a new OS will turn your PC into a touch screen? I wasn't aware technology had gotten that advanced yet.
Win 7 works fine and I don't need any of that touchscreen crap, thanks
it's a free upgrade man, why you saying no
Mandatory xbox app bloatware isn't great but I'm excited for a new version after using Windows 8 for a year.
it's a free upgrade man, why you saying no
Someone who is a 2009 user, and survived both 2011 and 2015 reshuffle You'd think they'd be a little used to change But really, who doesn't want the last version of windows, for $0 [editline]1st June 2015[/editline]
Mandatory xbox app bloatware isn't great but I'm excited for a new version after using Windows 8 for a year.
I found this intriguing as I didn't think that it was mandatory. But you're right, it cannot be uninstalled On the other hand, another application that came with the preview was 3D Builder, which can be uninstalled. Can't find Xbox in the Windows Features over a very brief scan either
Will it make me game harder?
Will it make me game harder?
Yes. Source: Direct X 12
Mandatory xbox app bloatware isn't great
Actually going to play devil's advocate here I showed my brother Win+G, something he wasn't used to Of course, it's great because it let's anyone, without decent codec or tech experiance to record game footage And it's still better than GFWL :v:
Should get a window like this [t]http://www.windows8core.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/Upgrade-Windows-8-to-8.1-5.png[/t] You must of not been able to preserve your data for whatever reason, but the assistant will tell you if it needs to do a clean install
Oh good I was hoping you'd be able to keep personal files and nothing else. I've got too much stuff to reliably backup, but this comp's install of Windows 7 is fucked :v:. Does the "keep personal files" include installed programs or is it just stuff from your user folder?
