Forty people were caught illegally crossing the international border near Pembina between Tuesday and Friday this past week, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police said in a Saturday statement. The announcement comes amid a recent uptick in refugees crossing the U.S.-Canada border. Information on the 40 people "intercepted" by Canadian authorities was not included in the release, and the statement said "no further details on age or countries of origin will be provided." Canadian officials did not immediately respond to messages requesting additional information.
http://www.duluthnewstribune.com/news/4229261-40-people-caught-illegally-crossing-nd-border-canada-last-week
Hope they don't try and make us pay for a wall later
Was Logan there too?
[sp]No, he was already dead.[/sp]
deport them so they can apply for citizenship properly rather than undermining our border and immigration system, these people aren't refugees and we don't need to care for them to satisfy trudeau's international scale virtue signalling
I wonder how many of them were actually "If Trump win's I'm moving to Canada" people
I wonder how many of them were actually "If Trump win's I'm moving to Canada" people
As a person who's going through the legal route for immigration, I guarantee that if they saw the amount of paperwork involved to actually immigrate to another country, they probably changed their minds instantly. I love how there's a certain degree of American exceptionalism at play when just anyone thinks they'll immigrate to another country and said country will just roll out the red carpet for them by virtue of them being American, as if that alone should be enough to grant them passage or permanent residency.

This is as inadvisable and unfair as when anyone else tries to illegally cross borders.
Related to this story, but didn't want to make a new thread for it:
Canada is enforcing its border laws and is willing to put more resources in place to deal with the influx of asylum-seekers from the US, federal public safety minister Ralph Goodale said Saturday. Goodale visited Emerson, Manitoba, a small town on the US border north of Minnesota and North Dakota that has seen some 200 illicit crossings so far this year. The number of such border-crossings has jumped in recent months, following the Trump administration’s plans to limit immigration and step up deportations. The Manitoba government has said the influx has created more demand for housing and other support services.
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2017/mar/04/canada-increases-resources-us-border-influx-asylum-seekers
