One child's new trim just got him cut from class.Ethan Clos, 5, of Springfield, Ohio, was banned from his kindergarten class last week because of his mohawk, which Reid Elementary School officials said was too distracting, WHIO reports.
"They seen his hair like it was. All the little kids were going over and feeling on it and everything,” Clos' mom, Keshia Castle, said.
The boy's grandmother said the haircut is similar to other styles that the school finds acceptable.
What a badass
This kid would probably become a social fuckup (or less successful socially at the least) if his parents hadn't gotten him that mohawk.
Some people just need to calm down, banning a kid for a haircut is a bit too far, maybe if he had a shirt with something that wasn't school appropriate on it but not a haircut.
Calling it now: Most White Trash Family in Ohio, they think giving a 5 year old a mohawk is a good idea and the mother's name is Keshia. I mean a mohawk is bad at the best of times but really? a five year old?

Because everyone without a mohawk become social fuckups?
Because everyone without a mohawk become social fuckups?
Non-mohawked social fuckup detected.
I think mohawks should be banned worldwide

I never stated everyone. At a bare minimum, it'll make the kid act like an attention whore if the parent enables the mohawk to be maintained, which is what this society does NOT need.

There's got to be more than meets the eye, as I don't see many parents letting their five year olds get a mohawk for the hell of it.
Too cool for school indeed :v:
I thought his hair would be shaped like a gun.
It seems like he didn't actually get expelled, but I can't read more because the link is broken.

the kid's haircut is pretty horrific anyway, here in Ireland people with haircuts like that are most definitely white trash, especially when they're 5 years old.
In school here this is perfectly acceptable to suspend a student for haircuts, dyed hair, facial hair. But this is mostly kept to private schools. I don't see anything wrong with it. I think getting an eye catching haircut is just looking for attention anyway.
edit:
holy shit our usernames
What a horrible school.
itt: haircut determines socioeconomic status

I think mohawks should be made mandatory worldwide.
Yes, even for infants and the elderly.

No they shouldn't
Remember Mohawks are for extended periods of time, not just for Christmas, and most kids of 5 won't want to walk it every day, condition to a satisfactory level and at age 5? Head lice is almost inevitable, what will you say to that mohawk when it's infested with blood sucking parasites? Hmm? What will you say, sir?

Hey, shut up, I had a mohawk when I was 5 and I live quite comfortably in Dublin :(
[editline]9th April 2013[/editline]
It was a pink one as well
"They seen his hair like it was. All the little kids were going over and feeling on it and everything,” Clos' mom, Keshia Castle, said.
Someone who was also apparently banned from school at a young age.
I even had words written in my hair when I was ~8
nobody gave a shit then, why should they give a shit now
Those types of "mohawks" are douchey looking. But no one deserves to be banned for their haircuts. That's awful.

All this discussion of local terminology has got me thinking of Guy Ritchie's Snatch.
"Ay fukin h8 pikeys."
what's wrong with a mohawk? To be banned from a school for a mohawk is just plain stupid.
who gives a fuck about what kind of haircut it was. the kid was banned for attracting attention.
guess what else attracts attention? new shit! if the kid comes in with a new t-shirt with some pokemon print on it, all the other kids are gonna start raving over that as well but only for a brief period of time!
Just hold your fucking banhammer and wait and see. once his new haircut isn't new anymore there's not going to be any more fucking problems!
jesus fucking christ it's like these people just crawled out of an egg yesterday and haven't had a chance to learn how things actually work!
