the red ace was the second card in the deck. when he flipped the deck it looked like he was flipping the first card but in fact, he flipped the first and second.

While I know a couple of card tricks, I suck at actually doing them. As in I'm being extremely slow, dropping my cards by accident etc. Guess I have to practice more.

Card tricks are not really about magic, they're a demonstration of sleigh of hand. Takes a lot of skill, and it tend to intimidate everyone if you do one before a game of poker.
