Nothing wrong with learning a new language.
He sounds like a muslamic infidel to me.
best future king
Watch as Daily Mail readers everywhere are flabbergasted that one of their great British idols is learning Arabic and attempting to read the Koran. Seriously some of them will have a heart attack.
Prince Charles reveals he's building time machine to KICK CROMWELL'S ARSE

He looks so lost in that first picture. this is good though, he's a cool guy.
Future headline: Theresa May revokes Prince Charles citizenship
Whoever's doing the royals' PR these past few weeks is doing a damn good job.

Why was i expecting daily mail before clicking this thread?
He sounds like a muslamic infidel to me.
muslamic rayguns.
The comments section is invariably better than the actual article. "who, exactly, is he trying to impress?- happychappette, Newport, Uk, 14/3/2013" "How about welsh lessons being the Prince of Wales?? - me, the world, 14/3/2013" (he does speak welsh by the way) "Why not just read one of the freely available English-language versions?! - davidtc56, London, United Kingdom, 14/3/2013" And then the lowest rated comment: "It is fantastic that our future King is embracing our multi-cultural society, perhaps now the middle England racists will be dragged into the 21st century. This can only help them see that our diverse society enriches all our lives and that the muslim religion will benefit cosmopolitan England in years to come."
This doesn't help about the rumor that Prince Charles converted to Islam lol.

wow terrorist
Why does he want to read the Koran in Arabic when there are English editions?
"Is the Prince of Wales planning on crowning himself Sultan Charles Mohammed al-Deathtobritain the First? Find out more in the next issue of the Daily Mail!"
Next we will have shakira law in our courts and british culture is banned. Welcome into the United Sultanate
Why does he want to read the Koran in Arabic when there are English editions?
Because a fuckload of detail is inevitably lost in any translation? Does someone need a reason to broaden their knowledge?
Because a fuckload of detail is inevitably lost in any translation? Does someone need a reason to broaden their knowledge?
Not to mention Arabic is the language it's supposed to be read in. Islam is kind of weird like that. EDIT:
According to Islamic dogma, the sacredness of the Koran is lost in translation. It's a holy book only when it's in Arabic, basically
What he said.

Clearly Obama's doing.
Why does he want to read the Koran in Arabic when there are English editions?
Wow. Because the non-translated ones are used by the Arabic world.
Honestly... respect to the guy. I highly doubt reading the book would be the same translated. I always feel different languages have a completely different feel of communication, added to the fact that they carry cultures behind them too.
Why does he want to read the Koran in Arabic when there are English editions?
translations always cause misinterpretation of things, that's common sense these days.
Also the understanding of a language is not only "knowing what the words mean". [editline]14th March 2013[/editline] ffs AK'z
Isn't the Koran badly translated from an earlier bunch of books anyways?
the 3 abrahamic books all adapt from ancient mythologies, but they each will communicate in different ways. I reckon I'll have to take a look some day, but probably won't go as far as charles in actually dedicating time to read it how it was meant to be read.
