KIEV, Ukraine — Ukraine on Sunday sought to maintain a tenuous cease-fire with pro-Russian rebels after a series of breaches endangered the truce, with officials in the eastern city of Mariupol saying one woman was killed and three were wounded in fighting overnight. “The Ukrainian government still believes in the cease-fire despite the violations,” Volodymyr Poleviy, deputy spokesman for Ukraine’s National Security Defense Council, said Sunday. Pro-Russian separatists and, according to Ukrainian and NATO officials, troops from Russia itself have taken up positions east of the key port city of Mariupol. Poleviy said rebel forces launched a limited rocket attack on Ukrainian military positions beginning late Saturday. The Ukrainian military-held airport in the rebel-controlled city of Donetsk, he said, had also come under fire. “We hope it was the product of miscommunications,” Poleviy said. Russia has denied it has sent troops or arms to aid the rebels. There were also signs of limited progress. Ukrainian officials said Sunday that prisoner swaps agreed to as part of the truce had begun Saturday, with two privates from the 9th Battalion of Ukraine’s territorial defenses released at a checkpoint in the eastern Luhansk region. why is russia still trying to act like its not sending troops or weapons?
I wonder if Putin really thinks that everyone except him are idiots or he just doesn't care.
You can see a bit of the rocket strike in the end of this video: I suggest you guys watch the whole thing. It certainly seems like Ukraine still isn't entirely ready for a war on this scale, which would explain why they actually are hanging on to the ceasefire. You can't exactly keep call it an anti terror operation if you actually loose ground to the "terrorists".
Ukraine had been gaining ground at a speed of one major city per week for a month or two up until two weeks ago, though. It's pretty clear that it's not just the rebels (Whom they had cut off and surrounded in their two only remaining strongholds) they're fighting any more, given that the Mariupol offensive came straight from the Russian border. Even if we do believe Russia's "Not-a-part-of-this" bullshit, Russia is still allowing armed rebels with military vehicles free transit through their country. Which is bad.

I just said that its sad that we have to associate with these types.
I think he was talking about this? http://america.aljazeera.com/articles/2014/7/24/grave-mass-slovyansk.html
All that implies is the buried a bunch of people who died in the fighting. Disrespectful and vulgar but maybe they didn't have the resources to bury them individually or the morgue might have been out of action. A mass grave is bad but being left to rot on the side of the road is somewhat worse. Mass grave != killing civilians. The article states it contains people who died in the fighting, both civilian and separatist. It shows a lack of respect for people are their religion (orthodox priest did blessing despite being from a different religion) But mass grave does certainly not imply some kind of civilian massacre. Considering the Ukrainian army were shelling the town during the fighting where those civilians died you can be pretty sure some of the civilians in that grave were killed by the Army.
Actually the guys from Vice News interviewed a journalist that found signed execution orders for the people found buried in the Slavjansk grave. They were apparently executed for minor crimes, such as theft, breaking and entering, assault & battery charges. Something that at most would have given you a couple of months in prison in any European country.
