A truck containing around 6000 copies of Modern Warfare 3 was stolen in France this weekend, according to reports.
French site TFI News reports that the truck suffered a collision with a car on saturday morning in Créteil, south Paris, before two masked individuals emerged.

This wouldn't be the first theft Activision has suffered, after an employee reportedly stole a copy of the game from a shipping warehouse in California before pirating the disc and uploading it to the internet.

Just like the heist from last years black-ops. Move along folks.

Either that or too much payday the heist.
Risking prison and or your life for some video games, I can't even comprehend this.
I mean shit, I love video games, but there's a line...
When I read the title it reminded me of Fast and Furious
Looking for a truck containing a game about looking for a truck
Guys they're not going to play 6000 copies of modern warfare 3. They're going to sell them for lots of money. Games are great targets for thieves because they're expensive, very small, and can easily be broken up and sold on places like ebay.

its for money, not video games. No one would rob 6000 copies of the same game just to play them. they obviously did it for the 400,000 euros
It's not like they're stealing them so they can play the game. They're probably going to try to resell them or somehow make money off of them.
Or brag about it on facebook or some stupid shit like that.
EDIT:
Ninja'd by Lurklet. YOU SHALL PAY FOR THIS
Got to admit, that's pretty cool
I some how doubt these guys are some petty criminals. I also doubt they'll brag about it, this is purely for money and obviously these guys are complex criminals.
They more then likely are in some sorta crime syndicate or something..they knew the exact truck to go after, when and where to do it. They used tear gas to get the truck without being violent or hurting someone and drove off with a truck. Yeah these guys are pretty skilled.

True, I didn't even think of it that way.
Just rob a store of MW2's and sell them on Ebay early telling everyone it is MW3
[sp]CoD players be RageRating[/sp]
Wow, that s pretty bad ass.
viral marketing for mw3's campaign obviously
Tear Gas? What a bunch of scrubs, Flashbangs are so MLG
Real-life pirating

If the hijacking took place in bumbfuck nowhere then yeah i agree viral marketing but even then who knows

Yea, except in The Fast and the Furious they were actually stealing cool shit like DVD players and car parts...not overrated video games.

I would bet they did it for the money, it doesn't matter what it is in the truck. I doubt they targeted it because it was carrying MW3.
If they did, the world has serious problems and I don't want to live on this planet any more.
I wonder what was going through the trucker's mind. "WHAT DO I HAVE THAT SO IMPORTANT!?!"
Real-life pirating
Because piracy is usually fictional?
I never thought I'd dish out a COD quote to respond to Activision but:
"Look at what your greed has brought you" - Makarov

They can sell them for a lot.

Yeah man like holy shit DVD players are hot shit.
I don't get why it being MW3 makes it any less "cool". They stole a truck carrying a 400,000 Euro payload; that's pretty fucking "cool".
All this for a VIDEO GAME, come on people, thats just sad.

They're not in it for the game, there in it for the money.
shit didn't think they'd report it, gotta hide the boxes
If the 1500 dollar copy is anything to go by, they just made around $9,000,000, if they can get rid of all the copies before street date.
