Doing machining work looks like fun.
Back in highschool we had a whole machining shop with lathes, CNC, the works. Mostly used hand tools in my time there and hated how monotonous some tasks were, now that I got the itch for some custom tremolo blocks I'm really missing it. It's so much cleaner and more precision oriented than woodworking.

and requires an unbelievable level of patience and skill that could result in reward but also the kind of disaster that makes you break your fist over a skull :v:

The Clickspring videos are worth it though, they're great if you're even remotely interested in machining

If you know how to measuring calliper properly and a drill piece then it isn't really that hard, I used all these tools and did similar work when I was 16 so not that bad if I am honest. I had a good boss tho he was very informative, the hardest thing I probably did was make around 200 axle pin levers which required a lot more precision that that as I had to use 2 different lathes to get the proper circumference
