Alot of people need some help with drawing on this forum. Post your tips and tricks in this thread, whether it be how to shade or how to do transparency. Just post it here.
Examples, plus my contribution:
Don't have a steady hand? Use a thicker brush.
Don't be afraid to use custom colors, just make sure they fit.
3D Perspective on a 2D program? Just make them look different ways and have some shading.
I usually work from a template of 800x600 with a colour pallet at the bottom.

Even with Plutorials that technique is fucking batshit insane to to do simple things, let alone master. Like that sunset thing I made took about 3 hours and its still shit
