• “Fearless Leader has taught me the error of my ways!” – Nick Webster, Excellent Review for Chongjin Gulag
• “I have to say, this is one killer place! Very great if you want to loose weight, and not spend any money! Just ask previous visitors! Everything is free, including food and shelter. Best place to take your family!” – Sunny Wu, Excellent review for Yodok
• “A hidden gem situated in the mountains of North Korea, you’ll be enthralled by the view, but don’t be tempted to spend all day reflecting on the natural beauty, as you will have so many activities to do during the day you won’t know where to start!…Enrolling is as simple as speaking your mind, and the breathtaking sights will put a bounce in your trudge, because at the Hwasong California, you can check out anytime you like, but you can never leave. So come say hi, and pack for a while because you can’t see it all in one day!” – Blair Skrupski, Excellent review, Hwasong Gulag
But, not everyone received 5-star treatment:
• “Room service didn’t speak English.” – William Trevarrow, Poor to fair review for Chongjin Gulag
• “Strictly for the check-point enthusiasts. If cavity searches and getting close to angry people with guns isn’t your cup of tea avoid this attraction and continue to Hwasong Gulag.” – Chloe G, Poor to fair review, Gulag 16 Checkpoint
• “The Eggs Benedict weren’t runny enough. and enough with the bread already. sheesh. bababooey, bababooey, howard stern rules.” Good review, Chongjin Gulag
What great customer service!
I like the reviews about fine restaurant quality entrees in a gulag of all places

This man must have lost his mind in the gulag so badly that he's starting to imagine the guards giving him food

I bet that guard beats them for even staring at him...
Hand's down, my favorite Gulag.First of all, let me just say that several factors played into the series of events that led me here. I've been playing this hilarious cat and mouse game with the DPRK secret police for years now. I'd subtlety turn down the state mandated radio broadcasting speeches of Dear Leader, they'd storm in and beat me clubs, rocks and tree branches. I'd attempt to eat an additional piece of bread over my allotted amount, they kill my family, so on and so forth. With that said, I believe if anyone is attempting to place blame on anyone for my time spent here, it's clear it should be placed on me.
oh god why?
this is literally then funniest thing i've seen all day
Haha what?
Hwasong California
brilliant
"put a bounce in your trudge"
Jesus Christ who writes these? I want to make love to them.
"The bell boy lost my luggage on the way to the room. How do you lose someone's luggage when you walk 10 feet to an elevator, up 3 floors and across the hall? The food was horrible and the free porno channels they offered were all scrambled. Stay away from this one."
Very good advice for the Chongjin gulag.
Oh my god this guy on the comments of the article in OP:

Google is not showing my comments.
I commented
"This place is better than most of places in US. No wonder people like this place. whooray!
BTW google map doesnt even have one of my store in its map.
Also that place I found in Sanfernando valley where I smelled really out of earth thing.
and that place also in Sanfernando valley where an old woman with distored face and bent waste is a security guard in the street.
Its just a shame that they think they know great country like North Korea which is far far away."
talking about media control in so-called democratic country.

Hey guys. Let me tell you guys more about things you will never know through major US media.
South Korea has the highest suicide in the world.
Don be fooled by all the hoopla in South Korean TV.
And guess what. North Korean defectors have even higher suicidal rate.
First North Korean defector who came to US also took suicide.
Do u know it was a big money making business to bring NK defector to South Korea?
Did you know that South Korean navy even went to NK water to kidnap 31 North Korean fisherman trying to make them defectors ???
whooray
As funny as this is, if they are actually the locations of the gulags they are kinda doing a good thing by marking where they all are.
My friend had a dream that North Korea is really a utopia and the other world governments tell us that NK is awful just to keep us in their countries. Judging by the reviews, it must be true!!
Haha what?
You would probably understand it if you were a fan of HS.
They do things like that pretty often, and it's like a massive inside joke.
These sorts of reviews continue for many of North Korea's other 'attractions'
Kim-il-Sung University:
Quality: Excellent
I learned many excellent things about great leader! death to the rest of the world!

Awesome School that teaches such topics as "Death to America" "How to let your population starve while you work on 1950's technology" and "Wood Shop"

Have a friend that studies here. The book store is excellent and the frat parties are ridiculous!
I love this
