A great musician who died young was Vitek. One of the best drummers in the world at 15.
[editline]7th November 2010[/editline]
Died at 23.
Dio, he was only 67 for fuck's sake. :saddowns:
The Minutemen
jimi hendrix is an obvious answer as far as individual artists go
as for bands I'd say Hendrix Emerson Lake and Palmer
died before it officially started :(
Pantera
Rage Against The Machine
Didn't die, just broke up

They got back together in 2008 and started doing more tours. They apparently also wrote new music but don't want to release it yet.
Yeah still, they lost all the momentum at their prime
I knew they "reformed' but they're still not a band until they release new stuff in my eyes
The Doors.
Band wise? I wish T-Rex had been around longer, but Mark Bolan's last great hit was a tree

Dear God I wish T-Rex had lasted a bit longer. I love T-Rex.
most people will not care but Viatrophy and Vegas in Ruins should never have broken up (though VIR's frontman is in Thy Art Is Murder now)

You know nothing about music. Also Metallica. Yeah you know what I mean...

Jeff Buckley isn't a band but he still died young
Nick Drake, was a fucking great musician, incredible melodies and he was so young.. It's one artist I would really love to see what more could he bring to the world if he lived.

Pink Floyd changed when Syd left.
Syd was a genius lost in his own psychadelic mess. Did you know he didn't listen to a single song of his from when he retired until his very last years when he watched his own documentary?
Windir.
10 years active but could've been more. Damn you snow
