I've been set to work on three drawings based on the theme 'Connections'. Unfortunately I've been having difficulty deciphering the theme, even though it has been left purposely open so I can interpret it how I will. There are the obvious ones such as actual connections like chains or hand holding, then family connections. If you guys could give me some ideas I'd be really grateful. Lacking inspiration!
I also have to explore the use of line in one of the drawings- can anybody explain the meaning of this to me in a bit more detail?
Thanks
'Explore the use of line' means utilizing the many different types of line to your advantage like hatching and cross-hatching, contour, weighted and implied lines.
It could also be a compositional task rather than a style of linework thing, i.e using everything that the viewer reads as a "line" to tie your composition together. Good use of line can have the viewer's eye sweeping back and forth around your piece and taking everything in, whereas poorly thought out lines or edges can direct the eye off the side of the piece or continually into a corner or a focal point that you didn't intend.

And for a piece, the first thing I would think to do would be a human figure connected to a machine, something like in The Matrix. Or a portrait of a part-machine person. Some interpretation thereof
